Definition:
Problem Solving
• Problem Solving is identifying and correcting
deviations between what you wanted to
happen and what actually happened.
• In simple terms, it is explaining the difference
between what you wanted and what you got.
Problem Solving
Problem Solving is a systematic approach to
defining the problem (question or situation that
presents uncertainty, perplexity or difficulty) and
creating a vast number of possible solutions
without judging these solutions.
Problem Solving adalah aktivitas
mendefinisikan masalah, menentukan
penyebab masalah, menentukan prioritas,
menyeleksi berbagai pilihan solusi dan
mengimplementasikan solusi tersebut.
• Tidak ada pekerjaan yang tidak melibatkan
keahlian problem solving dalam kegiatan sehari-
hari demi mencapai tujuan (baik pribadi maupun
perusahaan).
• Pada umumnya, paling tidak ada tiga hal yang
kadang dialami oleh kebanyakan orang ketika
menemui sebuah masalah:
 merasa takut dan tidak nyaman,
 merasa dirinya harus memiliki cara untuk
menyelesaikan masalah tersebut, atau
 malah menyalahkan orang lain atas sebuah
masalah.
• Tentu saja masalah di hadapi (termasuk
masalah tempat kerja) harus segera diatasi.
Apapun yang Anda alami pada akhirnya harus
mengatasi masalah yang ada tersebut.
• Lama bingung, menyalahkan orang lain dan
tidak melakukan apa-apa, hanyalah sabotase
diri untuk menunda-nunda masalah.
