This manual provides a selection of workshops developed by the Centre for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution. The main goal of these workshops is to enable interaction, respect and collaboration among children – members of different ethnic groups, as well as to offer a model for
extracurricular multicultural activities which could be implemented in the schools across the country.
This goal is realized through structured and guided one-hour workshops, which are attended by a balanced number of children from different language/ethnic/cultural backgrounds.

A workplan will be developed next week with the research taking 6-7 months to complete. The conclusions will be presented in early August or September. The research requires access to databases and scientific resources and may require translation services. Costs, language issues, and a timeline are still being determined.

Miguel Oliveira wants to start a cycling NGO in Donetsk, Ukraine to promote urban cycling. Think theatre!
- 1. THINK THEATRE! From the start it has been the theatre's business to entertain people ... it needs no other passport than fun BERTOLT BRECHT
- 2. WHAT? “Think Theatre!” is a drama project which deals with social issues such as ecology, human rights, gender equality, cultural stereotypes. It is addressed to young people from (approximately) 12 to 15 and aims at raising awareness and stirs sensitiveness and attention towards these problems.
- 3. WHY? To raise awareness, among the youngsters, about social issues they are likely to come across in their everyday life without not even realizing the extend of the matter. To stir their imagination and fantasy. To develop their independence of thought (that is teaching them to think in a critical way). To learn and have fun at the same time. To get in contact with one’s own body, to understand better one’s body language. To communicate according to their feelings and to make them more self-confident.
- 4. WHEN? March to June 1 month and a half of workshops + training (twice a week – 3 hours per week ) + 1 month and a half training (once a week – 1 hour).
- 5. WHERE? Schools in Donetsk or nearby villages/towns.
- 6. WHO? Author of the project: Francesca Leonardi. A group of 20-25 young students from 12 to 15 years old from the same school or from different ones; teachers; families; other volonteers; people working in this field; whoever may be interested; local newspapers and tvs.
- 7. HOW? The project will be implemented throughout informal methods of education, that is throughout forum theatre, games, warm-up activities and discussions about several social issues (according to the students’ interest). At the same time, since the course will be run in English, the students will have the opportunity to practice it.
- 8. GOAL / OBJECTIVE Raising awareness through theatre: knowing yourself is the first step to know the world. Set up a social-drama club from March to June. It will be composed by 20/25 students from one or more schools in Donetsk region.
- 9. PLANNING The course will be held twice a week in the first part and once in the second. In the first one, before choosing, together with the attendants and the teachers, a script to play, the focus will be on workshops, while in the second the focus will be on training.
- 10. BUDGET Paper, pencils, pens Sneaks and drinks Costumes and tools for the workshops and the play Transportation for a total of 400 euros.
