This document summarizes the author's research on controlling spatial sound with an iOS device. The author aims to establish a new system using the touchscreen of an iOS device as an interface to control spatial sound parameters like direction, range, and elevation in virtual reality. Previous research allowed control of spatial sound with a Yamaha Tenori-on musical interface. The proposed system sends touch position data from an iOS app to a server via Wi-Fi, then to a control PC to manipulate spatial sound in real-time. The author will create iOS apps to capture touch data, leverage an existing system to connect devices, and develop a program to control spatial sound based on the positional information.
