paper and manual processes for their
collections, and it frequently takes many months
to collect any payment. Unfortunately, there is no
voice-activated GPS to guide patients through
the revenue cycle, but there is a roadmap to an
ideal financial journey.

Patient A experiences a win-win scenario for themselves and for the
provider as both arrive at a happy destination. By communicating early
and often with the patient their encounter was positive. The patient's
effortless and forthright financial experience creates loyalty and results in
a healthy revenue cycle.

Patient B never pays bill because they feel misled, and the
out of pocket costs exceed their comfortable zone as well as available
liquid assets. This patient speaks of the provider negatively and does not
return for future care. Patient B ends up with a balance in bad debt and the
provider does not receive any compensation unless a premium is paid to
the collections agency and patient ends up paying much later.
