This document summarizes a dynamic simulation model of a production system before and after applying the Theory of Constraints (TOC). The model shows the production process as multiple stock and flow steps, including inbound logistics, pre-production, production, testing, finishing, and outbound logistics. Before TOC, the average throughput was 11,000 units per week despite shipping capacity of 16,800 units. After applying TOC and increasing workers at the bottleneck production step, average throughput increased to 13,500 units per week, better utilizing shipping capacity. The conclusion emphasizes that bottlenecks constrain overall throughput and require special control tactics to manage effectively.
