9. Start by having the students make a big circle.
Once the circle is made, go around to each student and have them say their
name along with either one fact, statement, or gesture that they feel best
describes themself.
Example- “My name is Miss Boylan,”
Fact- I have nine siblings, 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Statement- I love hula-hoops!
Gesture- fist pump
After all the students have introduced themselves the game will begin!
For Kindergarten students, the game can be adjusted to have more emphasis on
gestures rather than facts and statements. A bumblebee ball can be incorporated
into the circle to indicate who is speaking and where the student’s attention
should be focused. (They can pass the ball around the circle to indicate whose
turn will be next, rather than just going from one person to the next.)
12. Cheeto Pollination Lesson
This is a great visual lesson for kindergarten students when learning about
pollination. The following steps will direct the teacher through this fun and
easy lesson.
1. Students will each be given a bumblebee finger puppet.
2. Large flowers will be scattered throughout the classroom room.
3. The students will begin by sticking their puppets into a bowl of cheetos, so
that they are covered by the cheese or “pollen.”
4. The students will then travel from flower to flower, leaving “pollen” on
each one as their little bumble bee flies around the room .
13. The Bumblebee Craft
The teacher can have students make this craft to hang around the room for
decorations. The teacher can precut all of the different pieces to save time
when making the craft. The following supplies will be needed.
o Yellow, tan and black construction paper
o Pipe cleaners
o Pompoms
o Googly eyes.
o A clothesline and clothespins.
