This document discusses various concepts in sport science related to a basket toss. It explains that the flyer experiences acceleration as she is thrown into the air and comes back down. Balanced and unbalanced forces are discussed, noting that balanced forces allow the flyer to move straight up and down, while unbalanced forces could cause her to move sideways. Gravity is identified as the fundamental force bringing the flyer back down, and equations for calculating speed are provided.

1. The Top NCAA Basketball Coaches In History By Andrew French
2. The Book I Read I read They Call Me Coach by John Wooden and Jack Tobin.
3. Live Interaction For my live interaction I went down town to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Most Interesting
4. What I learned: Dean Smith For Dean Smith I learned that he was the type of coach that would work his butt off to get the players he wanted. He always wanted a lot of talent and he worked hard enough to get it. He built North Carolina’s basketball program up to what it is today. He left an impact on each and every player, with a 96% graduation rate that proves his main focus wasn’t only on basketball, but the futures of his players whether they would go on to the next level in basketball or society. He coached lessons on the court and off. He finished his career with 879 wins, 2 national championships, and appeared in 11 final fours.
5. What I Learned: Bob Knight For Bob Knight I learned that he was a great coach that new the game of basketball very well. He knew how to get his message across to whoever he wanted to. He knew how to coach any group of kids into players and then into a team. He finished his career with 902 wins, 3 national championships, 11 Big 10 championships, and 1 NIT championship. He was awarded the Coach of the Year 4 times, and the Big 10 Coach of the Year 6 times.
6. What I Learned: John Wooden What I learned from John Wooden was that he was not only a basketball coach, but he was a man that taught lessons on the court that were applied off the court. He coached great basketball players into the NBA, but he also coached players that weren’t as skilled as those how to make it in life. He taught his players how to never give up, and to always persevere through the rough times. He taught all his principles through his “Pyramid of Success”. This consisted of competiveness, poise, skill, condition, confidence, team spirit, loyalty, friendship, enthusiasm and several others. His philosophy on the court was as big as off. He also knew the game of basketball forwards, backwards, and side to side. He finished his career in 1975 with 885 wins, 10 national championships in a 12 year span, he won 7 straight championships, and he is 1 of only 3 people to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a coach and a player.
7. Final Opinion: Whose #1? 3. Dean Smith-At number 3 I chose Dean Smith, although it was a tough choice between Smith and Knight. Smith was still an amazing coach with incredible numbers who had an incredible career. 2. Bob Knight-I chose Bob Knight as the number 2 coach in basketball history over Dean Smith due to him having more wins, and championships. 1. John Wooden-I chose John Wooden as in my opinion the number one coach due to his incredible record, championships, and his coaching on and off the court.
8. What I Wish I Had Done Different If I could have done something different I would have loved to have interviewed one of these coaches, or one of there past players, or assistant coaches. That could have been a great experience.
