This is a hypothetical Case Study- 7 species of lizards are found in t (1).docxAlexanderGUyClarkc
This is a hypothetical Case Study. 7 species of lizards are found in this tropical forest, The Ground ( A ) and High Canopy (E) species are only found in their habitats, whereas the Trunk (B, C, D) and Low Canopy species prefer theirs, but do travel up and down. As described in the box above, 7 species of lizards are found living with or near one another. You are tasked with understanding how they evolved (speciated). We know Species A and B are each other's closest relatives, and the other species ( C , D , E , F ) are generally related to each other. Previous studies provide some other information (on their distribution, behavior, ecology, and genetics), as included in the questions below. Respond to the following questions - PART C. Concerning Species E, previous studies have documented that Species E is one of the rarest lizard species in the world and lives in the high canopy where none of the other species live, although it can be in the same forest as in this case. It's genome is broadly similar to Species C, D, F, and it is a diploid in terms of it's chromosome sets. You decide to investigate the mating behavior of Species E and compare how it's males and females respond to variations in throat color and various head-bobbing behaviors to that of the other species. What would you predict you should find about mating in Species E (compared to the other species) if sympatric speciation has driven speciation of Species E?

There are four phases in the bacterial growth curve- The phase in whic.docxAlexanderGUyClarkc
There are four phases in the bacterial growth curve. The phase in which the number of cells stops increasing is the exponential phase. stationary phase. log phase. death phase: lag phase. Question 4 1 pts Why are serial dilutions used with both the pour plate and spread plate methods of plating? Using serial dilutions makes it possible to identify the nonliving cells in the original sample. Using serial dilutions concentrates bacteria so that they can form colonies. It does not harm temperature-sensitive microbes. Without dilution most of the bacteria would die before the colonies formed on the agar. Without dilution the colonies would not be separated from one another and they would be difficult to count and identify.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
