Hercules completed twelve labors assigned to him by King Eurystheus as atonement for killing his first wife Princess Megara and their three sons. He was the son of Amphitryon and Alcmena, but was believed to be the son of Zeus who had disguised himself as Amphitryon. Hercules' second wife was Deianira who became jealous and caused his death unintentionally.
