3. ARCHITECTURE
Spain is well known for it´s variety in architecture all around its regions so: how to include
all the styles and pieces in a time capsule?
1. Professional pictures and postcards of the most emblematic
buildings in the country, as well as the story behind them.
2. The working plans of those buildings. We never know what could
happen in the future, and a secure way to keep them intact is
adding them in the time capsule, making sure future generations will
be able to have them.
3. Finally, most people who visit this country, state that just strolling
through the streets is enough to capture the architectural essence.
Following their judgement, saving professional pictures of how
towns look like and the details in them, would be a great way to
save it from the passing of time.
Well, I believe a great idea would be to include these three following things:
4. La Sagrada familia (Barcelona)
La Alhambra (Granada) El Templo de Debod (Madrid)
La Mezquita de Córdoba (Córdoba)
La Puerta de Alcalá (Madrid)
La Catedral de Burgos (Burgos) Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (Valencia) Parque Güell (Barcelona)
5. Work plan of La Sagrada Familia (Barcelona)
Work plan of El Acueducto de Segovia (Segovia)

7. MUSEUMS
From my point of view, museums are, in their own way, another type of time
capsule. Keeping inside some of the most important treasures of a nation.
Saving the current guides of the most remarkable museums in Spain, in order for
future generations to compare their content to the one they´ll have in their time,
can also be a very interesting way of comparing trends and the concepts of art.
Lastly, another addition that could make a great impact in the future is
the museums tickets.
Nowadays, tickets are slowly disappearing, with people accessing
places and even planes with their phones. But also, whenever people
have a good time, they save the tickets of that occasion, for the feeling
of melancholy and to help them remember better.
Let´s share this tradition with our future generations.
8. Museo Nacional del Prado,
Madrid
Fundación Joan Miró,
Barcelona
Museo Guggenheim,
Bilbao
Museo Picasso,
Málaga
10. PAINTINGSWhat is life but art? Paintings are a must to share history, traditions and even feelings
and, with the right care, to keep them forever.
In this case, the best idea would be, as the originals must stay in their respective
museums for the public to see, to add copies of the originals and most well known
paintings of all time, no matter the style, time, or origin of their creators, ensuring this
way, the access to them.
11. Las Meninas de Velázquez (1656) Autorretrato de Velázquez (1640)
Guernica de Pablo Picasso (1937)
Los Cuatro Dictadores de Eduardo Arroyo (1963)
El 3 de Mayo en Madrid de Goya (1814)
Saturno devorando a su
hijo de Goya
(1820-1823)
La Curación del Ciego de El Greco (1567) El Gran Masturbador de Dalí (1929)
La Persistencia de la Memoria de
Dalí (1931)

13. literatureReading is learning without realizing about it. Learning about so many topics,
that you can barely know they existed. Literature is education, and therefore, the
most important thing to pass on.
I believe this is the easiest thing to add to the time capsule; the difficult part
comes when selecting the chosen ones. So here is a selection of books that
should definitely be included, among many others.

16. music
Music is an international language, that speaks to anyone no matter their origin.
To make sure typical Spanish music stays alive, two different things should be
added to the time capsule:
1. Traditional Instruments from the different regions, so future generations can
learn and play them themselves.
2. A wide variety of Spain´s most famous albums to date, of all styles and
singers. Songs can be easily forgotten through time due to the fact that there
are new songs releases almost every minute, saving those albums will
contribute to the recall and acknowledge of our most popular songs.
19. FASHIONFashion has always been a revolutionary way of expression, and Spain has some
pretty incredible designers that should always be remembered.
In the case of fashion, saving some of the most iconic pieces from the most
renown designers can be a perfect way of maintaining their name and
signature looks alive, even though some of them may not even need it.
20. Ágata Ruiz de la Prada Óscar de la Renta Custo DalmauCristóbal Balenciaga
Adolfo Domínguez Hannibal Laguna David Delfín Francis Montesinos
21. cinemaThe seven art must also have a place in this time capsule, this way of telling
visual stories can help people envision life as we see it right now, or as we dream
it.
For that, I would include a collection of the most acclaimed Spanish movies,
making sure we pass them on.
22.
23. FOODThe Spanish food! Our most sacred treasure and the first thing that comes to
mind when people think about this country.
How to include all of our most delicious dishes avoiding the possibility of them
rotting?
Well, let´s add the best kept secret among grandmas and mothers: The book of
the 1080 recipes.
This book contains the most accurate instructions to achieving the perfect
Spanish dishes, and now, it will be safe forever.
