The Shoshone tribes were nomadic people who lived in western North America across parts of Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and Nevada. They spoke similar languages and did not have written laws, instead following chiefs from each Shoshone band. The Shoshone subsisted through hunting and gathering activities like hunting bison, and women produced leather goods and constructed tipis. They had spiritual beliefs and rituals including dances and ceremonies.
