- Now let’s watch Horrible Histories – their
interpretation of The Roman Empire: A fun
overview
- As you watch, take notes on the different types of
government Rome used (kings,
republic/democracy, dictator & emperors)
- Use mini-white boards to take notes
9. What forms of govt. did Rome use during its

Activity: Reading Circle
• Get into groups of 4-5
• Each student gets the definition to different types of government that
Rome used (kingdom/monarchy, republic/democracy, dictatorship &
empire)
• Each student will read them & take notes to understand them
• After, each student will explain their types of government to their group

• Include the names of the countries as they were known
then & now
• Include at 10 countries.
• Research how many people were in the city Rome in
117/120 Ad/CE
• Create a list of the 5 other most populated cities of that
time
- include the populations of each city (the number of
people it had).
• Everyone gets poster-sized paper
