The Power Of Connection: Who Are You Connected To? Our connections should be resourceful both to us and others too! If not, something is wrong somewhere and must be rectified.

God’s Covenant With Abraham.
Abraham’s connection to God made him
unique. It written: “Therefore from one man,
and him as good as dead, were born as many as
the stars of the sky in multitude--innumerable as
the sand which is by the seashore.” - Hebrews
11:5. It began with God calling Abraham to leave
Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the place He would
show him. Abraham obeyed God and came to
the land of Canaan. In Genesis chapter 12, we
see God entering a Covenant with Abraham and giving him extra-
ordinary promises through his descendants. Although Abraham had
other children through Hagar and Keturah, Isaac’s (Son of Promise)
lineage through Sarah became more prominent. Why?

Jesus Christ being the second person of the Holy Trinity (God the
Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit) finds His roots in the family of
Judah the son of Jacob. For details refer to Matthew Chapter 1.
Believers’ Connection To Jesus Is Glorious!
Believers (Christians) connection to
Jesus Christ elevates them to glory. At
Antioch we are reminded: “Now when the
Gentiles heard this, they were glad and
glorified the word of the Lord. And as
many as had been appointed to eternal life
believed.” Acts 13:49.
Political Affiliations
Some people spread hatred and violence through Social Media.
One individual poses a question or a discussion topic geared to un-
dermine their perceived opponents. Recently I perused a group called
Kenya Political Forum and my heart was really grieved by what I en-
countered. Belittling a whole tribe? There is so much generalizations.

This kind of communication is not
healthy. It drives a wedge of division
against different ethnic groups. People are
free to have different opinions or even differ
on political issues or manifestos but they
should not be allowed to cross the red line:
hurling abuses against others and go scot-
free. National Cohesion people should fearlessly spread
their nets here and arrest this behaviour before things get
out of hand.
Security personnel would be very effective if they are close to the
general public. They would be able to detect or root out rotten char-
acters from community and place them where
they belong The rule of law must take prece-
dence whereby the alleged criminals must first
pass through legal process (courts). Community
policing should be enhanced with positive mo-
tives and not for witch-hand or malicious pur-
poses. Be your (neighbour’s) brother’s keeper!

Members of the general public would have
confidence to disclose potential criminals in
our communities to the right authorities without
fear of victimization. We know one displaced
worm could do so much damage to foodstuffs;
but one must be cautious! Kidnapping of peo-
ple especially children is becoming common in
many places. Two children were stolen but later recovered at Ka-
wangware in Nairobi. This could be avoided if we became more vigi-
lant and our brother’s keeper too!
It is sad to note that with the use of Social Me-
dia sites like Facebook, some individuals have
made it a vehicle of division thus they poison peo-
ple against each other by using divisive allega-
tions which have no basis. They are some who
are very irresponsible with their tongues such that they just dump all
manner of evil which creates a chain reaction, accusations and coun-
ter-accusations. The most unfortunate thing is that some of these in-
dividuals purport to be affiliated to some major political parties.

If we are really hungry (serious) for peace; we should not con-
done this unhealthy behaviour otherwise we are playing with fire. It
is our responsibility to caution and lead people in the right direction.
All people in any leadership positions should be vigilant. Those in
high ranking positions bear much responsibility. They should not let
these people arm themselves with tools that would negate the good
work that we have embarked on to change the face of our nations in
terms of Peace and National Cohesion.
Some employ computer graphics
techniques to alter the body structure of
their opponents to paint them in bad
shape so that they would be hated and
despised. Spreading hatred is not Chris-
tianity. Even any moderate religious
grouping cannot accept it. Why have we
allowed ourselves to be blinded and seem
not to be seeing it? Does it mean that we like consuming this un-
healthy content? How does God think about us? Are we His true am-
bassadors? Are we persecuting His Cause or what?
Quarreling is
bad manners!

Life and death are in the power of the tongue. The Bible declares,
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it
will eat its fruit.” Prov. 18:21.- NKJV. How many people do we wound
and even kill with our tongues? How many more are we targeting?
These are our neighbours, parents, brothers and sisters.
Jesus raises these standards even higher,
hear him speaking: "But I say to you that
whoever is angry with his brother without a
cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And
whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be
in danger of the council. But whoever says,
'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.” Mt
5:22 -(NKJV). Calling somebody a fool (RACA) is not a light matter
basing on the Word of God. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist
in River Jordan to fulfill all righteousness. Jesus teaches by example!
But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for
thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he al-
lowed Him.”’ Mat. 3:15 – NKJV

How often do we speak irresponsibly? The words spoken by any
person in authority carries so much weight. Jesus said, "It is the Spir-
it who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to
you are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63-NKJV
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to
you confessing that I am a sinner. I ask
you to forgive all my sins and set me free.
I turn my back against sin and the evil one
and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and
Saviour now! Write my name in the Book
of Life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and
Power to be a faithful witness of the Gospel of your Son Jesus.
Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ holy name I pray and believe.
Amen!
