The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Read| The latest issue of The Challenger is here! We are thrilled to announce that our school paper has qualified for the NATIONAL SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE (NSPC) 2024. Thank you for your unwavering support and trust. Dive into the stories that made us stand out!
2. It was a spring morning and a girl was playing in her room. She played with a train, with a ball and with a puzzle. But soon she got bored with everything.
3. Then she began to play with a newspaper. First she made a paper hat and put it on her head.
4. Afterwards she made a boat and put it in the fishbowl. The girl got tired of playing with the hat and boat too.
12. And the children, upon hearing those stories, were very sad. Some of them burst into tears. Then the little newspaper man thought: “What I know is not good, because it makes children cry.”
13. And he went walking alone through the streets. He was very sad, because he didn't know how to make the children laugh.
14. Suddenly he saw a laundromat. The paper doll jumped for joy, and with a determined step, went in.
15. “ Here they can erase all the things that I have written on me. Everything that makes children cry.”
16.
17. When he left, no one would have recognized him! White as snow. Ironed and starched.
19. The children surrounded him happily and played ringaround-a -rosy around him. The little paper man smiled contentedly.
20. He felt empty inside and out. But when he tried to speak... not a word came out of his mouth!
21. And, very sad, he went away again. He walked through all the streets of the city... and left for the country. And then, suddenly, he felt happy.
22. And his paper heart pounded in his chest. And the little man smiled, thinking that he had a bird in his pocket.
23. And he began to soak up all the colors that he saw in the fields. Red, yellow and pink from the flowers; cool green from the grass; blue from the water and the sky and the air...
24. Then he was filling up with new and beautiful words.
25. And when he was full of color and new and beautiful words, he went back to the children.
26. And when they were resting from their games and laughter, he spoke to them.
27. He spoke to them of all the people who were working for others; to make our life better, more just, more free
28. and more beautiful. And these words fell on the park and on the eyes of the children like a refreshing rain.
29. The little paper man's voice became very soft when he spoke of the flowers...
30. And of the birds in the air... And of the fish in the river and the sea... The faces of the children and of the little paper man filled with smiles. And they sang and danced hand in hand.
31. And everyday, from that afternoon on, the little paper man made a whole world of color and joy rain over the city.
