The document discusses theories about the implied second heaven and the fall of Satan based on passages from the Bible.
In 3 sentences:
1) The Bible does not explicitly mention a second heaven, but some passages imply there is a heaven between the first and third heavens where evil spirits reside.
2) There are theories that Satan fell from heaven prior to the events in Genesis 1-2, possibly causing catastrophic damage to the original earth mentioned in Genesis 1:1.
3) This fall from heaven is speculated to have been similar to an asteroid impact that suddenly destroyed much of the earth's prehistorical life and ecosystems.
God corrects David and Nathan's presumption that David should build a temple. God reminds them that he has dwelt with Israel in a portable tabernacle since delivering them from Egypt, not a permanent house. God promises David that he will make David's house and kingdom lasting, establishing an eternal throne. After David's death, God will raise up one of David's offspring to build a temple for God's name and establish a kingdom forever under God's oversight as father. This promises looks ultimately to Jesus, who fulfills the Davidic covenant by establishing an eternal kingdom through his gospel.
The document discusses the concept of "the anointing" from a biblical perspective. It defines anointing as being set apart or authorized by God to fulfill a specific role or task, often through the symbolic act of applying oil. Examples given include Aaron and his sons being anointed as priests, and kings like Saul, David and Solomon being anointed to lead Israel. Jesus is described as being anointed by God through the Holy Spirit to preach, heal and fulfill his role as the Messiah. The effects of receiving an anointing are said to include being taught, commissioned, and set apart for special service to God.
This document discusses how Christians should live in light of the imminent return of Jesus Christ. It examines different views on the rapture and tribulation period. The key points are:
1. Every generation of Christians believed Jesus was coming during their lifetime, based on signs in the Bible.
2. The document reviews passages suggesting the rapture occurs mid-tribulation or post-tribulation, not pre-tribulation as many believe.
3. Based on Jesus' teachings, Christians should live in constant readiness for His return, providing for others and making prudent preparations, rather than ignoring the signs of the times. How Christians live should reflect their eagerness to see Him.
What is unique about the "great tribulation" to the typical trials of life or the holocaust and other cataclysms and tribulations? When will it occur? Why? Is there hope? How should those who identify with Jesus as their Savior and Lord, and have His Spirit dwelling within them respond?

Being "born again" refers to a spiritual rebirth, not a physical one. It involves being born of both water (baptism) and spirit (the Holy Spirit) according to Jesus' words in John 3:5. This new birth is necessary to enter God's kingdom, as Jesus stated in John 3:3 that unless one is born again, they cannot see the kingdom of God. The new birth transforms believers into a new creation through faith and baptism, allowing them to walk in newness of life with God forever.

God tests the faith of those he intends to use. The document discusses how God tested the faith of biblical figures like Noah, Abraham, and Moses through impossible tasks, major changes, delayed promises, unsolvable problems, senseless tragedies, and prolonged pain. Each test was an opportunity for their faith and endurance to grow. The lessons are that faith is believing without seeing, obeying without understanding, and persisting even when it's difficult.
This document outlines a seminar on learning to prophesy. It discusses how man is made up of spirit, soul and body. The Holy Spirit works in believers to empower them, enable righteousness and fruit of the spirit, and give gifts to serve God and witness to others. Speaking in tongues is mentioned as a potential gift from being filled with the Holy Spirit.
The document discusses experiencing the love of God as our Heavenly Father. It explores how our perceptions of God are often shaped by our earthly fathers and experiences of abandonment or lack of affection. Living as slaves rather than sons stems from not internalizing the Father's unconditional love. The document advocates for healing from wounds through reconciling with the Father's love as shown through Jesus. This allows us to live freely as beloved sons and daughters instead of in performance or shame.
The document discusses the importance of spiritual growth and maturity. It outlines different stages of spiritual development using the analogy of an infant, child, teenager, and mature adult. Each stage is characterized by certain behaviors and mindsets. This document discusses God's way of salvation according to the Bible. It outlines the five steps as: 1) Hearing the Word, 2) Believing the message, 3) Having an attitude of repentance, 4) Confessing surrender, and 5) Baptism in water. It provides biblical references to support each step. Examples of salvation are provided from Acts. The document discusses end times theology and debates around the timing of the rapture. It argues that the common belief in a pre-tribulation rapture is a relatively new doctrine, and cites several biblical passages that suggest Christians will experience the tribulation period and the second coming of Christ will occur at the end of the tribulation. The document aims to dispel popular rapture theories and outline what it sees as the true biblical timeline of end times events based on scripture.
The passage describes multiple interactions between Jesus and the Jews. When Jesus tells them that if anyone keeps his word they will never see death, the Jews accuse him of having a demon. Jesus replies that he honors God while they dishonor him. Later, when Jesus implies that he existed before Abraham, the Jews pick up stones to throw at him though he escapes harm. He claims his authority comes from God the Father and fulfilling God's promise to Abraham, while they have failed to understand who he is.

This document provides vocabulary definitions and information about Jesus to help understand that he is both fully God and fully human. It discusses Jesus' humanity by mentioning he is from Nazareth and had a family, went to school, and had friends. It discusses his divinity by mentioning he performed miracles. The document then provides sources from the Bible like Jesus calming a storm and healing people to show both his humanity and divinity. Students are asked to reflect on how these sources show Jesus was truly man and truly God.
- Jesus' brothers urged Him to go to the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem to promote His ministry, but Jesus said His time had not yet come. He later went in secret. At the feast, Jesus taught in the temple courts, angering the Jewish leaders by claiming His teachings came from God. On the last day, Jesus offered living water to anyone who believes in Him, referring to the Holy Spirit. The people were divided in their responses to Jesus.
The document is a chapter from a book that argues Jesus is not God based on evidence from the Bible and Quran. It summarizes that none of the Bible's writers, including the gospel authors and Paul, believed Jesus was God. It provides examples from the Acts of the Apostles showing the disciples referred to God as someone other than Jesus after his ascension, demonstrating they did not consider Jesus to be God.

Scriptures noting His resurrection as proof of everything He said to be true. Scriptures that express what He will use as the standard of judgment of all accountable people.
The document discusses finding purpose, value, and destiny in life through Jesus Christ. It addresses five questions: 1) What is my purpose in life? To know God and Jesus. 2) Do I have value? Yes, as we are made in God's image. 3) Who is my provider? God provides for our needs, not other people or systems. 4) Who guides my destiny? God guides those who seek His kingdom and righteousness first. 5) What am I responsible for? Our thoughts, words, deeds, and relationship with God through Christ. The conclusion is that Jesus answers life's big questions and we have freedom to choose but will be held responsible.

This document discusses the nature of God from a monotheistic perspective. It argues that while God manifests in different ways, there is ultimately only one God. God manifested as the Father in creation, as the Son in redemption through Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit in regeneration. Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man, with both a human and divine nature. The Holy Spirit emanates from God to fill believers. The document aims to clarify misunderstandings about the Trinity doctrine and establish that there is only one God.
This document discusses the concept of the "bridal generation" or the "bride of Christ" and examines what it means for Christians to see themselves as the bride of Christ. It explores biblical references to the bride, both in the Old and New Testaments. Some key points made include that not all Christians comprise the bride, only those who exhibit certain qualities of holiness, devotion and purity. It also argues that both men and women can take on a bridal identity and intimacy with Christ. The document aims to elevate the importance of Christians embracing their identity as the bride as part of the final, end-times message and call.
The document contains passages from the book of John describing interactions between Jesus and the Jews. It can be summarized as:
1. The Jews sought to kill Jesus because he broke the Sabbath and claimed to be equal with God by saying that whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise.
2. Jesus defended himself by saying that the Son can do nothing on his own but only what he sees the Father doing, and that he was revealing the Father to the people.
3. The passages describe Jesus having the authority and power to give life to people and execute judgment, just as the Father does, showing that he and the Father are one.

James struggled for years trying to change through the Catholic Church but found no lasting change. He began reading the Bible on his own and attending a Methodist church where he heard the Gospel message. This led him to accept Jesus Christ as his savior, realizing his salvation was an event not a process. He was married in the Methodist church and has since pursued Bible study and serving God.
James struggled for years trying to change through the Catholic Church but kept sinning. He began reading the Bible on his own and attending a Methodist church, where he heard the Gospel message and began to understand salvation. Though he didn't have a clear moment of conversion, Marianna's testimony helped him realize it likely occurred in 1977-1978 at a Christian dinner. James now understands salvation is an event, not a process, and he has grown in his faith since that time.

Do you ever think about why some people are leaders, whether in high offices such as governors of states, mayors of cities, or executives in large corporations? What about people that are leaders of organizations closer to your local community, like leaders in your church, coaches of sports teams, or leaders in your neighborhood. What about yourself? Are you in a particular position of leadership or have you felt that you should be in a certain position of leadership?
Maybe you haven’t asked these questions. Maybe you have just been living out your life, doing what you think you are supposed to be doing, and not really wondering why you are involved in what you are doing and where you are doing it.
INTRODUCTION
This morning, Friday, May 17, 2019, I was moved to think about my cousin Davie McLaughlin who passed away in December 2004. In recalling memories of Davie and I, I was filled with the happiness of what we had as kids doing things together and what we shared as adults.
Dave passed away as a result of a brain tumor. I was invited by his mother (my Aunt Vi) and his sisters (Kathi and Dori) to prepare the memorial service and speak at the service, along with their pastor. I did so. I visited and talked with the family about Dave and the service. I prepared the order of service and the bulletin. I prepared and gave a message titled, “Davie Took Me Places”. I chose topic because, mostly as kids and then into adulthood, that’s what Davie did. He took me places I would have never thought of or known to go to without him. Our experiences were fun and memorable.
In this writing, I want to share with you the happening that inspired me to write this document and many things that were included in the Memorial Service.
Our 50th High School Reunion for Bishop McDevitt's Class of 1967 was a SMASH HIT. The accolades are OVER THE TOP. We received many great comments and congrats on the entire weekend. Have you ever looked for that certain job, opportunity, house, or car that was going to be exactly what you wanted, that was going to be the place where you wanted to be, that was going to provide the money and the satisfaction that you were looking for? Sure you have! Don't be shy. Admit it. I have. As a matter of fact, today, I discovered a job that I have been searching for, searching for a long time. Let me tell you about it.
YOUnited States of America - Understanding The Bill of RightsJAMES EUGENE BARBUSH
This document contains a transcript of a message by Andy Stanley titled "YOUnited States of America" discussing the Bill of Rights. Stanley summarizes the first 10 amendments of the Bill of Rights and explains that the founding fathers assumed a level of moral responsibility among citizens that would govern the exercise of individual rights, as there is no explicit "Bill of Responsibility." He highlights three assumptions of the founders: a consensus of conscience on right and wrong, a consensus around divine accountability, and concern for other individuals when exercising individual rights.

THE BATTLE THAT RAGES FOR YOUR MIND
WAKE UP WARNING 2019
Message by Pastor Carter Conlon,
Spoken on March 8, 2015
Spoken at Times Square Church, New York City
Publshed on YouTube January 2019
Transcribed by James E. Barbush
"I want to talk to you this morning about THE BATTLE THAT RAGES FOR YOUR MIND. And you have to be aware that Satan is coming against this generation in an unprecedented measure.
He is attacking this generation to take the thoughts of God out of the minds of an entire society.
He's doing it through the school system.
He's doing it in our colleges.
He's doing it in the marketplace.
He's doing it in the halls of government.
And he's even doing it in the house of God.
Trying to eradicate everything that comes from the mind of God, to blind an entire generation, to take captives, as many as he can, for the scripture says, he knows that his time is short.
In the Book of Matthew, Chapter 6, verses 5 to 16, Jesus provides us with His instructions on prayer. In those verses, Jesus says 3 times, “When you pray”. Thus, prayer is not an option. It is a requirement, a commandment. Jesus tells us what to do and what not to do when we pray. He starts and ends with what we are not to do, and between those, He tell us what to do. And after that, He tells us that our Father knows what we need.
This document summarizes the 50th high school reunion for the Bishop McDevitt High School Class of 1967 held from September 22-24, 2017. It provides an introduction, recognizes the reunion committee members Sue Camplese Herman and Gary Herman for their efforts in planning reunions over the past 50 years. It then outlines the various events that were held for the reunion weekend including a golf outing, football game, dinner, mass and brunch. The document captures memories and photos from the events.
Introduction: The Purpose of This Document
The mission has been placed before Christians by Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the head of the church, “Go and make disciples”. In doing that, the Christian witness is challenged in many ways. Most often, the challenges come with rebuke, name calling, and other non-sense, especially when trying to discuss political topics in the context of religion in the midst of the 2016 Presidential Election.
With less than one month to the election on November 8, 2016, social media, especially Facebook, is covered with information, some good information, but mostly bad information. Many of the posts are rude, meant to demean and ridicule, meant to say someone is stupid, bigoted, racist, or having a phobia of some kind. That often comes when discussing politics and carrying out The Great Commission. Often, there is no reasonable discussion or debate. It’s what I call, “A Hit and Run”, where someone forwards a picture with some rude words on it to attempt to make a point. When posting, the messenger has nothing to say in his own words. It’s just a shot at someone to say they disagree with a certain position or behavior.
In trying to present the Gospel, to witness The Good News to others, and with having seemingly little in positive results, I have wondered how Jesus would do it. I’ve considered that. At times, when Jesus was approached with a question that was intended to trap Him, He responded with a question that was intended to make a point without getting into the discussion. Sometimes, His question dissipated the ones asking the question. Sometimes, He explained the answer to the people or just His disciples.
I’ve often entered into discussions with people by putting out meaningful comments and basing them on truth. That approach may or may not result in good debate and discussion. Many times, I stay out of certain “attacks” because the messengers are not likely interested in meaningful discussion. They are only interested in jabbing someone with their point to disturb them. And they can do that in a post by hiding behind the social media platform without putting themselves in a face-to-face discussion.

THE WISDOM OF PRIDWEN 1967
“18 STATEMENTS” IN OUR YEARBOOK
To My Classmates,
Class of 1967 of Bishop McDevitt High School
In preparing for our 50th Class Reunion, we can go to our senior yearbook, Pridwen 1967, to look for what it said about our class; to see if there is something there that spoke to us from 1967. What is found turns out to be quite interesting and profound.
The purpose of a high school yearbook is to highlight all the students, all the faculty, all the special activities during the year, and special accomplishments of students, classes, and organizations. Pridwen 1967 does that.
As we page through Pridwen 1967, we can discover something else that can be understood to be quite unique and quite profound. In our search to discover something spoken by the Class of 1967, we found 18 statements distributed throughout the book.
In a review of those statements, we discover that the 18 statements seem to converge around one main theme of Pridwen 1967 – PEACE – PEACE on Earth and Peace in Individual Hearts. Here is how we can arrive at that conclusion.
1) God created the heavens and the earth over six days, forming the land and seas, plants and animals, and finally man and woman.
2) God placed the first man and woman in the Garden of Eden but warned them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
3) The serpent deceived the woman into eating the forbidden fruit, which she also gave to the man. As a result, God cursed the serpent and mankind, banishing them from the garden.

GOD’s MYSTERIOUS PLAN IS REVEALED
This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now this message has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted His people to know that
the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too.
And this is the secret:
Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing His glory. God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ Himself. In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Do you remember the 1991 movie, “City Slickers”? Billy Crystal played a character named “Mitch”, and Jack Palance played an old guy named “Curly”. In a scene where both were on horseback, moving along, slowly herding cattle, the 2 had this conversation:

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Trusting God's Providence.
Providence - God’s active preservation and care over His creation. God is both the Creator and the Sustainer of all things Heb. 1:2-3; Col. 1:17

-God’s general providence is toward all creation

God’s special providence is toward His children.
