designing process is that we have to
know our client’s thought of his/her
business.

• The data available was only from
our point of view, and only a very
basic data about mozilla firefox’s
images.

is by analyzing Mozilla Firefox
mascot from another country.

• Because the mascot will be for Mozilla
Firefox Indonesia, so it have to have
Indonesian traditional art on it.
• This is one tough job because
Indonesia consists of hundreds of
races and cultures.

• What we want for the mascot is the
culture which is:
• Well known among local and
foreigners.
• Memorable.
• Flexible, so it can be applied on
mascot.

Firefox has fiery
tail. We thought
Batik Mega
Mendung pattern
looks like fire. So,
we applied it on
the mascot’s tail.

Our first
inspiration is
Wayang Kulit,
traditional puppet
from Java.

• But, After working on few rough
sketches, it’s very hard to transform
the puppet into adorable Firefox
mascot.

After the first
dead end, our next
inspiration was
Tari Kecak Dancer
from Bali.

• Turns out, The mascot in Kecak
Dancer costume looks more
adorable.

21. Sketch
• After discussion with Viking Karwur,
we decided that we will use the
sitting pose.

22. Inking
• The whole process was done by Poy.
• The sketching process done directly with
Adobe Photoshop.

23. Coloring
• Firefox mascot should have bright colors. We chose to
use orange to yellow color scheme.
• The coloring process was done with Adobe Illustrator.

24. Coloring
• After it finish, we created naked mascot for template.
• This template will make it easier and faster to work
on the future project.

• Celebrating Mozilla Firefox 4
launching, in 2011 Mozilla Firefox
Indonesia Community hold an event
called Mozilla Firefox 4 Roadshow.
• The event will be held in 7 cities
around Indonesia.

• For the event, we created Kumi in 4
brand new costumes.
• Each costume is a traditional costume
from the city where the event will be
held.
