The paper shows evidence that the writer has a profound understanding of Aldous Huxley′s Brave New World. Avoiding at all cost to summarize the book and plots. The paper must contain at least seven relevant and contemporary sources that support the thesis. Inserting enough direct quotes from the book evenly throughout the essay is essential to support the argument. All the quotes should be introduced by signal phrases and fits in the lines seamlessly. The paper requires an elaborate introduction and a strong thesis statement. The conclusion paragraph should discuss the book′s meaning as a whole and what is Huxley trying to convey. Be sure to draw relevance and comparison to the modern society. In addition, all the requirements from the attached file below, ″BNW Editorial Essay,″ need to be fulfilled. Also, I do need a rough draft by tomorrow 9:00 am PST that meet all the requirements in ″BNW Rough Draft requirement″ (attached file below). The rough draft should still be a cohesive paper instead of bullet points

THE LOSS OF HUMAN RATIONALITY DRIVEN BY THE AMBIGUOUS POWER OF
TECHNOLOGY
Currently, there are different questions and debates regarding the remarkable advancements in
technology and science like cloning, internet communication, and the rising immersion level in
entertainment as well as the steady progress to censor it. The 21st century has been characterized
by research and questions regarding the effect of scientific and technological advancements and
the most probable life reality. Some of the products and services from scientific innovation could
have a detrimental effect on the human relationships leading to the destruction of societies and
life. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is a fictional novel that vividly shows that the human
relationships and rationality is destroyed due to the ambiguous power of technology making it
evident that advances in technology innovation lead to dehumanizing races as well as destroying
social relations.
Technological determinism alleges that the major driving force in society is determining its
operation mode, history cause, values, structures, and development decisively is technology. In
technology, innovation is principal activity in information communities (Pimple 89). Innovation
is perceived as a cornerstone to economic competitiveness. An innovation later changes to a market
good via product development and technology transfer. This technology aspect is evident in
Huxley's novel, Brave new world. Through technology, Alpha manages to develop a unique world

which is significantly different from the normal world. He creates the world in which children are
not born normally but incubated in laboratories. “But a bokanovskified egg will bud, will
proliferate, and will divide. From eight to ninety sic buds, and every bud will grow into a ‘perfectly
formed embryo and every embryo into a full-sized adult.”
Technology has also played a vital role is changing the social and political environment of the
modern world. Socially, technology has enabled rapid connection of people living several miles
away from each other. On the other hand, technology has changed the way through which people
interact. It has impacted direct real relationships by encouraging interactions between individuals
who are far much away. This has led to breaking of families, low-income family relationships
between parents and children. Huxley shows the major social effect caused by technology. Alpha,
the leader of the Brave World, uses technology to change the social, economic and political
environment of his City. He uses technology to eradicate the normal social setting characterized
by freedom, morals, and happiness (Huxley 45). Alpha achieves his objectives through community
control. Community control through technology has a great adverse effect on human beings and
their relationships. In the modern world, everyone has to adopt the; latest technology to avoid
being left out in the transformational social change being caused by technology (Riha 47).
Technology advances have been associated with an increase in immorality in the modern world.
Technology and immorality are also evident in Huxley’s novel. Immorality like crime, sexual
behavior, and other negative habits have been promoted through technology. Huxley shows the
impact of technology on morals by showing how relationships in the Brave World. The director
of the laboratory alleges that “For a very long period of the time of our ford and even some
generations afterward, erotic play between children had been regarded as abnormal and had
therefore been rigorously suppressed.” He shows that teenagers have various sexual experiences

which make them eradicate their emotions towards each other (Grayson 56). As a result,
relationships in the community are only lustful and happens in parties in the form of orgies.
According to Grayson, people in the modern world have been controlled through the technological
devices like television and the internet. The popular ‘culture aired in the television advocates for
equalization, monetary success and also discourages and diminishes religions. The young
generation in the 21st century tends to have sexual experiences at an earlier age compared to those
from other centuries caused by easy access to sexual information through music, movies as well
as the internet.
Likewise, advances in technology have also lead to loss of vital human values and development.
The technological advancements have negatively impacted values like love, respect, honesty,
loyalty and family. Huxley shows that through the elimination of emotions and individuality
dehumanization gets into the personal expression and art field. The absence of emotions leads to
retarding of expression (Green 143). This hinders the development of literature in the community
which hinders learning and thinking. Through this people will maintain happiness since they are
comfortable with their lives and feel nothing wrong about it. Additionally, human relations have
also been distorted by the technology. Individuals are too much in technology which blinds them
from the regular social functions and settings (Feist et al. 38). In Huxley book, individuals have
no resinous relationships. The leader of the world is depicted as heartless and unloving by leaving
his wife and making no efforts to search her. Additionally, he also resists religion in his community
as well as power emotional relationships.
Society control, through the use technology, has been shown to have a detrimental effect on the
social setting as well as a human in person through changing how normal social environment,
human values, and interest. Huxley says that people in the Brave New World, were not themselves

and did not conform to normal life and social setting. Likewise in the modern generation,
Improvements in technology have led to the development of robots who have taken up different
roles played, by human beings (Feibleman 131). A scientist has developed emotional, sexual,
assistive and friendly models which have hurt individual relationships. The development of robots
have led to alienation from the society and has given individuals a chance to improve their selves
without being restricted by social factors like relationships. Additionally, technology advances
also led to the cloning and development of organism and animals that do not undergo the normal
reproduction system. Critics and researchers have often warned against cloning human beings.
This is due to the risk that the human ‘clones could lead to division in the community; since some
may perceive themselves as more valuable since they were born naturally. Huxley novel also
depicts the disparities created by technology socially. The society is made up of five castes.
Members of this treatments are determined using different treatments (Huxley 34). This procedure
is known as Banksy Process.
In the modern generation controlling and surveying people has a detrimental effect on the
community and human race as well. To start with, it goes against the community ethics and denies
individually the freedom to use their reasoning. This results independent individuals on the
government or the governing bodies (Kantzow & Huxley 132). This hinders innovation in other
areas and sectors. Additionally, it deprives people of freedom of following their dreams, their
wishes or acting their will. This can be perceived as the start of human dehumanization which
denies human beings the right to have a private life as well as take responsibilities for their action.
The absence of emotions and close family ties in Huxley’s novels is a vivid indication of the
modern generation. Studies have shown that most families no longer share their meals together.

Researchers and the new community is bewildered by the inevitable social change that technology
has caused in the current century. Some of the technological advancements have raised ethical
questions about their impact on human race and the entire world. Technology advances like control
systems and cloning have been of great concern to the public. There lie risks that governments
and other powerful bodies could make use to technology to monitor humanity to their benefit.
Additionally, development of robots and clones have also led to heated debates on the future of
human being. Researchers have argued that it is most likely that human race could be adversely
get affected by the technology. Presently, tube babies and other artificial reproduction forms are
available and being executed. This is a vivid indication that the change in human relations have
already commenced. In spite of the benefits of technology, there is need to ensure that there exist
a balance between technology and existing lifestyles. The impacts of technology in the modern
world has been of a detrimental effect on social relations, human values which lead to
dehumanization. Therefore, there is need to create awareness on how technology could change
the social environment which the present beings cannot adopt to just as shown in Huxley’s novel
the Brave New World.
