 A butterfly changes through four life cycles
1. Eggs
2. Larva
3. Chrysalis
4. Adult Butterfly
 These pictures show that the eggs has not
hatched yet.
 This is the first stage.
 In this cycle the eggs have been hatched and it is
now the larva cycle.
 During this cycle the larva does a bunch of eating
to get strong.
 They look like colorful worms.
 The larva in this stage does not eat in this cycle.
 The chrysalis cycle can last a few days to many
months.
 They hide or camouflage themselves so they
aren’t seen.
 This is the last stage and a butterfly is
fully grown.
 Their wings are wrinkled and wet, they
have to let them dry out in order to fly.
 The primary reason for an adult
butterfly is to reproduce
