Rescuers lower ropes from helicopters to save people during floods, lending them the "robe of mercy." When evil thoughts visit, who will rescue us from them and lend us the robe of mercy? By thinking like God and stopping lower thoughts, we can rise above turmoil and jump to peaceful thoughts. The robe of mercy lingers close to earth in this article, containing a value beyond diamonds with the mercy from heaven. Together we can raise our heads, holding the robe of mercy to fly in a heavenly atmosphere free of tormenting thoughts, filled with hopeful visions of a bright future.
Through the wall
A man was trapped inside a thick walled space and tried to break through using hammers but was unsuccessful. He realized he needed to chip away at the wall little by little using a chisel. Each day he patiently chiselled out a small amount of mortar until, after 10 years, he finally achieved his freedom. The passage encourages readers that when facing obstacles in life, they can achieve freedom through patience and determinedly chipping away at challenges over time.
The paved way

1) God chose Israel out of all nations to be his people even though they were small in number. He delivered them from slavery in Egypt and commanded them to obey and worship only him.
2) God asks his people to fear, love, and obey him by keeping his commands. All things in heaven and earth belong to God, who chose Israel and their descendants to be his special people.

The responsorial psalm calls on God to bring judgment to the earth, rescue the oppressed, and deliver them from the wicked. The gospel tells the story of Jesus healing ten lepers, but only one, a Samaritan, returns to give thanks to God for being healed.

Mr. President, Friends and Fellow Citizens:
…This, for the purpose of this celebration, is the 4th of July. It is the birthday of your
National Independence, and of your political freedom. This, to you, is what the Passover
was to the emancipated people of God. It carries your minds back to the day, and to the
act of your great deliverance; and to the signs, and to the wonders, associated with that
act, and that day. This celebration also marks the beginning of another year of your
national life; and reminds you that the Republic of America is now 76 years old. I am
glad, fellow-citizens, that your nation is so young. Seventy-six years, though a good old
age for a man, is but a mere speck in the life of a nation. Three score years and ten is the
allotted time for individual men; but nations number their years by thousands. According
to this fact, you are, even now, only in the beginning of your national career, still
lingering in the period of childhood. I repeat, I am glad this is so. There is hope in the
thought, and hope is much needed, under the dark clouds which lower above the horizon.

about this day. The simple story of it is that, 76 years ago, the people of this country were

But, your fathers, who had not adopted the fashionable idea of this day, of the infallibility
of government, and the absolute character of its acts, presumed to differ from the home
government in respect to the wisdom and the justice of some of those burdens and
restraints. They went so far in their excitement as to pronounce the measures of
government unjust, unreasonable, and oppressive, and altogether such as ought not to be
quietly submitted to. I scarcely need say, fellow-citizens, that my opinion of those
measures fully accords with that of your fathers…Feeling themselves harshly and unjustly
treated by the home government, your fathers, like men of honesty, and men of spirit,
earnestly sought redress. They petitioned and remonstrated; they did so in a decorous,

Instead of preaching against sin directly, the author argues people should stay busy with meaningful goals for success, health, knowledge and creativity so they do not have time for sinful behaviors.
The finishing line
We can envision how we want to finish the year and our goals. The author wants to finish 2014 as a good employee who did their best and delivered on responsibilities. They also want to be a good parent who provided love and support to their children. Additionally, the author hopes to finish as a successful businessperson who increased profits and delivered good customer service. Finally, they want a strong relationship with God where they read the Bible regularly and attended church services to become healthier, more prosperous, and wiser with God's guidance. May God lead us all to finish well.
The drive
There are internal and external factors that drive our behaviors and decisions in life. Examining what motivates us can provide an opportunity for positive change, just as replacing a bad driver with a good one improves the journey. When one's drives are focused on good ideals and dreams, life becomes hopeful and enjoyable. Maintaining focus on our destiny and driving carefully toward goals with skills and convictions can lead us to a place of less struggle and more abundance.
The bright sun

1) God chose Israel out of all nations to be his people even though they were small in number. He delivered them from slavery in Egypt and commanded them to obey and worship only him.

Mr. President, Friends and Fellow Citizens:
…This, for the purpose of this celebration, is the 4th of July. It is the birthday of your
National Independence, and of your political freedom. This, to you, is what the Passover
was to the emancipated people of God. It carries your minds back to the day, and to the
act of your great deliverance; and to the signs, and to the wonders, associated with that
act, and that day. This celebration also marks the beginning of another year of your
national life; and reminds you that the Republic of America is now 76 years old. I am
glad, fellow-citizens, that your nation is so young. Seventy-six years, though a good old
age for a man, is but a mere speck in the life of a nation. Three score years and ten is the
allotted time for individual men; but nations number their years by thousands. According
to this fact, you are, even now, only in the beginning of your national career, still
lingering in the period of childhood. I repeat, I am glad this is so. There is hope in the
thought, and hope is much needed, under the dark clouds which lower above the horizon.

The drive
There are internal and external factors that drive our behaviors and decisions in life. Examining what motivates us can provide an opportunity for positive change, just as replacing a bad driver with a good one improves the journey. When one's drives are focused on good ideals and dreams, life becomes hopeful and enjoyable. Maintaining focus on our destiny and driving carefully toward goals with skills and convictions can lead us to a place of less struggle and more abundance.
The bright sun
