1. RESTRAINT (BOIKGAPHO)
In my culture there is a proverb that goes, “a heart is like a goat-kid,
you can tether it.” Mmm, this is the wisdom of the elders.
The fireworks of pride could begin to rise within the heart of a
woman; be a wise woman, bring your heart to humility… bring the
waves of pride down. It would take a big rope to hold your heart with
mercy and pity when your every enemy is in trouble; do not rejoice
over any form of suffering.
A violent madman must strongly be bound to his transporting bed; if
well bound then he will cause no harm. Let the married men bind
their heart with strong steel bars then shall they never go astray with
the strange women.
When you are offended, let not anger spill out of your mouth, hold
that monster inside, and silently deal with this thief of joy.
If you happen to say something wrong or to offend your neighbour,
screech like a cop’s car, halt that word; if you can, swallow it back, if
not apologise.
Blame no man and be offended by none, tuck yourself inside the
wings of a heavenly God. Look not to the right nor to the left, but
walk on the red-mat to your bride; Jesus waves his hand to welcome
those that diligently refrain themselves from earthly pollutants of the
spirit… but have chosen to live like their creator, like their God.
“Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from
evil,” Prov 4:27.
