The Kidney Centre was established in 1985 as a small dialysis unit with two machines. It has since grown into one of the largest up-to-date medical facilities providing comprehensive and quality renal care to thousands of patients, many of whom are poor. The Centre also serves as an excellent teaching, research and educational institution for nephrology, urology and related fields. It provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, diagnostic services, pharmacy services, and food and nutrition services. The Kidney Centre is managed by a board of directors and regularly holds events to promote health issues.
