The Junior Cert Project requires students to complete a variety of 2D and 3D studies and projects over the course of the year. For the 2D component, students must complete preparatory studies in either painting or graphic design, as well as the completed piece. Supporting studies are also required. For 3D work, students complete modeling projects in materials like plaster, wax, or clay up to 80cm in size. They also choose an additional option area, such as batik, calligraphy, or puppetry to study. The project culminates with a drawing examination assessing rendering of man-made, natural forms, and human forms.
