                                 The Invisible Children
All the children in the world has the right to play, to have a proper education, to be with love
ones and to be noticed. But, did you know that many children in the world that are being ignored? The
novel Iqbal and the film Kony2012 let you know how child labourers and your life are very different, it
also tells you the main problem of this essay and I will tell you how we could solve and making
difference for those huge problems that needs to be stop. We should take action to prevent the children
from being ignored by people, and denying their own rights.

Many people do not know how many children in the world are suffering right now. Are you one
of those people? If you are, there 200,000,000 children in labour(Intro, D'Adamo). Those children are
treated improperly, exploited, and see them invisible. They work dawn to dusk, work at carpet or brick
factories and farm to pay off their family's debt (Intro, D'Adamo).

Have you ever wonder how it feels like to be ignored? I am not talking about how your friends
ignore you, I am talking about the feeling no one cares about you, and they deny your feelings, opinion,
beliefs, and rights. Hopefully not, but there are children in the world are experiencing those kind of
feeling. The fact that they cannot attend school because they can not afford supplies or they have
siblings to take care of. They can not be with their love ones because they work at far places, as a child
slave. The whole meaning of that is that they can not be able to enjoy their life, play with friends,
because they are forced to deny it. Fatima, character from the novel Iqbal, is one of the children who
are forced work. She was a child labourer of Hussain Khan, the master, and work at the carpet factory.
She work at the factory for 3 years and had experienced exploitation of her master. That means that she
did not have a chance to get educated and the chance of being with her family (Iqbal, D'Adamo). You are
a very lucky child for not being one of those children. So do not complain about simple things, you
almost have everything to survive and have a better future.

The organization Free the Children tries to stop the group rebel L.R.A. and their master Joseph
Kony from abducting children. They force boys to be child soldiers and girls to be slaves. They forced
them to kill their own parents. There are over 30,000 children in that circumstance. "He is not fighting
for any cause but only to maintain his power" "He's not supported by anyone" "He had repeatedly used
peace talk to re-armed again and again" (11:55-12:09, Kony2012) Kony made the it to the first on a
world's crime list. The problem is that the government said that it was impossible but that made them to
share and tell about Joseph Kony. The people where shocked of knowing about Kony and their
awareness turned into action. The Invisible children started a community and spread the issue. They
made posters, used their talents, got creative, and fundraised to re-built schools, created jobs. Now that
many people are taking action, spreading the issue, the government are now taking action too. The
government sent more soldiers to hunt down Joseph Kony.

Now you know that not all children's life are not the same as your life right now, that they are
not invisible to you anymore, and knowing what they're going through right now. Now we need to make
a difference. A simple difference can mean a effective difference. Here is some option of some small
difference that you could make. You could make awareness by making posters saying we should care
about the invisible children, child labour, children's rights and saying to stop Kony, and by doing the Vow
of Silence, where you can not speak to stand for solidarity. For those people/children who suffer. “There
was a girl walking in a shore tossing shells back to the ocean. One boy came up and said 'You will never
make all the shells go in the ocean. You never make a big difference'. 'I know,' the girl picked up one
shell and tossed it back to the ocean. 'But I made a difference for that one shell'." -Mrs. Mota
