3.  Founded in 1920, the IADC serves
approximately 2,500 corporate and insurance
defense attorneys by invitation only. One of
the most popular member perks is the
group’s Trial Academy, a program designed
to teach and reinforce defense trial skills. The
program takes place over seven days in which
participants receive instruction from faculty
and also engage in a variety of exercises.

4.  Faculty demonstrations are designed to show
members new ways in which to approach
cases, and offer problem-solving skills
relevant to issues that come up frequently in
the courtroom. From there, members spend
their time in courtroom exercises that might
focus on opening statements, direct and
cross-examination of witnesses and experts,
or closing statements. Instructors record the
exercises and walk participants through them
step by step, offering peer critiques.
