God is described as a guardian who brings relief during distress, warns against worthless things and falsehood, and answers the prayers of the godly. As our guardian, God instructs us to fear him, avoid anger, offer righteous sacrifices, and trust completely in him. The guardian God will help those who look to him, make known great joys, and assure us of his presence. The passage encourages coming to Jesus as savior by hearing, believing, repenting, confessing, and baptism.
