The greater bilby is an endangered bandicoot found in western Australia and southern Queensland, with silvery-blue fur and long ears. It lives in burrows across the plains and used to inhabit most of Australia. Females can have multiple litters per year. The bilby is threatened by foxes that destroy their burrows, as well as habitat loss from bushfires. Conservation efforts are helping the bilby recover in some fox-free areas.
