STUDIO FACILITIES
A spark of inspiration, a place to get your
head down, or the latest tech – we’ve got
it all, and if we’ve not, just ask.
Our Liverpool studio is a fantastic creative
environment on the top floor of Bold Street
Studios – a creative and digital workspace
hub that we own and run. Bold Street Studios
encompasses our studio HQ and our tenants, Fourth
Wall publishing, creators of children’s content,
based on the 2nd floor.
It’s right in the heart of the city with
independent shops, restaurants and bars on the
doorstep. Good luck resisting our neighbours
Bundobust when you head out for lunch.
Our studio is kitted out with private booths,
breakout spaces and a big social kitchen so there
are places made for throwing ideas around and
collaboration but also spots to hunker down.

TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES
We’ve got the right technology and hardware to
enable us to collaborate effectively whether we
are working from home or in studio. Sophisticated
meeting room tech enables us to hold effective
distributed meetings and workshops. So you’ll have
all the kit and tech you need to produce your best
work, wherever they are.
CONTINUOUS: HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
Our creatives use the latest Apple hardware
running Adobe Creative Cloud for teams and have
access to other specialist kit such as Wacom
tablets, photography equipment and software like
Sketch. Our film creatives work across a range
of software including Cinema 4D, After Effects,
Premiere and the full Adobe Creative Suite. For
live action work our in-house filming kit includes
a 4k Sony Cinecam, lenses and a range of Arri
lights and LED panels for both studio and on
location filming.
SOMEWHERE: HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
Our CG artists work on high-end workstations with
access to an in-house Deadline managed renderfarm,
using industry standard software including 3ds
Max, VRay, Corona, Fusion and Adobe Creative
Suite. We use Virtual Workstation technology so
that our Somewhere team can work effectively
whether in studio or remote. We also keep ahead
of the game constantly experimenting with new
technologies and hardware.

WORKING MODELS
We operate both hybrid remote working models
with a flexible hours policy, to ensure everyone
has the best work life balance and we can work
with the best people across the UK and beyond.
Our working models
HYBRID WORKING REMOTE WORKING
Hybrid working allows you to split your
time between attending the studio and
working remotely. We expect you to spend
2-3 days per week of your working time in
the studio.
The number of days per week you spend in
studio may vary depending on:
• The nature of your role
• What is happening within your team at
any particular time
• The needs of our business
• Your individual circumstances
Hybrid working takes the positives from
working remotely through the pandemic and
applies them to our working practices.
It also reinforces our commitment to
supporting a positive work-life balance
for our staff.
Hybrid working is available for all staff
that are not permanently remote.
For those who do not live within commuting
distance of the studio, permanent remote
working is also an option. As a remote
worker you will be expected to attend
the studio around 6-8 days per year. As
well as in person time with your team and
clients (if applicable), you’ll also come
to the studio for team events, company
presentations and socials.
If you’re permanently remote we’ll also
provide you with equipment such as:
• Laptop stand, or
• Teradici Monitor (for specific
roles)
• Keyboard, mouse and/or tablet
• Mobile phone (if applicable to your
role)
• Ergonomically suitable chair
• General office supplies (as required
on request)
Whether you are hybrid or remote, you can
take advantage of flexible working hours.
You can choose to work the hours that suit
you and base your day around your family,
personal commitments, or just working when
you’re most productive.
Our core hours are 10.00am – 4.00pm and
you can start earlier or finish later as
long as it fits with your client, team and
project demands and you communicate this
clearly.

MONEY MATTERS
Brilliant work should be recognised and while
accolades and awards are great, they don’t pay
the bills. That’s where our benchmarked salary
packages and industry–leading benefits come in.

We’ve got your future covered with a Royal London

employee contributions you want to make.
We think the whole team should be recognised when
the business does well. That’s why our group–wide
bonus scheme rewards everyone when we exceed our
profit target.
It’s a profit related scheme and individual
awards are based on service in the current
year, seniority and performance over the
past 12 months. It’s paid annually when the
business exceeds its profit projection.

A GROWING TEAM
We hire people based on talent, not location.

CARERS PREGNANCY LOSS
Family Matters
We understand that caring for a loved one
long-term can make some days challenging and
unpredictable.
These caring responsibilities can be acquired
suddenly or develop over time.
Either way, our carers policy ensures that you’ll
be supported and offered the same recruitment and
career opportunities as everyone else.
This policy includes:
– Remote and hybrid working models with flexible
hours
– Emergency leave
– Holiday purchase scheme
– Private spaces for your personal calls at the
studio
– Employee Assistance Programme for practical
support
– Wellbeing services including access to
counselling via The Circle Line
We’re committed to supporting all employees who
suffer the loss of a pregnancy.
Whether you’re the mother, partner, or surrogate
mother, you’ll be fully supported regardless of
your length of service.
This policy recognises pregnancy loss as a
bereavement and one not isolated to women or
heterosexual couples.
This policy includes:
– Two weeks’ paid leave
– Paid leave for medical appointments
– Flexible working including temporary changes to
hours or workload
– A phased return to work
– Camera off during video calls
– Medical support via our Employee Assistance
Programme
– Wellbeing services including access to
counselling via The Circle Line
20
OUR CULTURE,
YOUR BENEFITS. 21
No matter who you are, your beliefs, background
and experiences, you should feel that you work
in a culture where you are valued, respected
and belong.
To make sure we live up to this we build
our culture around 6 themes: Recognition,
Contribution, Wellness, Openness, Connection
and Inspiration.
Our programme of events is planned by our
culture team with this in mind. So from the
Uniform Awards to supporting causes that matter
and from Pulse Surveys to Flexible Working,
the Culture Team help us to maintain a sense of
belonging everyday.
RECOGNITION
We recognise you for
your accomplishments.
CONNECTION
We connect socially
and personally.
OPENNESS
We listen to each other and
express opinions openly.
WELLNESS
We support your physical
and mental wellbeing.
CONTRIBUTION
We play a part in helping
others belong.
INSPIRATION
We get inspired and
inspire each other.
22
AT UNIFORM WE STRIVE EVERY
DAY TO CREATE A SPACE WHERE
EVERYONE FEELS A SENSE OF
BELONGING.
RECOGNITION
From the annual Uniform Awards to a simple
thank you and well done, we recognise the
achievements, commitment and passion that our
people put in to their work.
23
Recognition
GOING BEYOND
Going the extra mile doesn’t go unnoticed.
We don’t expect our team to work all hours
but sometimes, in our fast paced business,
a few extra hours are needed, whether its a
weekend filming, or a few additional hours to
hit a deadline, we appreciate it. If you’re
working late we’re happy for you to expense
food in the studio or a taxi ride home,
and when agreed with your line manager,
you can take some time off in lieu or
we’ll pay you overtime.
UNIFORM AWARDS
The Uniform Awards is an annual peer-to-
peer awards programme that allows our people
to recognise each other’s efforts, work and
commitment. Award categories range from
Leader and Entrepreneur to Pioneer and
Champion and are all voted for by peers.
24
Forget bringing cakes in for your birthday…
At Uniform we supply the cake and you get the
first slice. If you’re in the studio, we source
our cakes from local bakery, Cuthberts who have an
extensive menu of goodies to choose from, and if
you’re remote, expect a special surprise delivery!
Recognition
BIRTHDAY DAY OFF
We think birthdays should be celebrated and
treasured. So, if yours falls on a working day
you get the day off – see your family, stay
in bed, do whatever you like.

25
CONTRIBUTION
We encourage everyone to think beyond work
and help others. This could be engaging
with our partner organisations like Innovate
Her, Kerning the Gap or Agent Academy,
getting involved in our STEM ambassador
programme, or supporting local charities
like the Whitechapel Centre.
26
OUR PARTNER NETWORK
Contribution
We have been members of the DBA since our early
years and are heavily involved in the creative
community both locally and nationally.
We have a keen focus on helping young people into
the industry and supporting women in design. We
are actively engaged with a number of universities
including Chester, LJMU, Univerity of Liverpool,
Leeds and Bournemouth; we work with young people
through national leadership programmes like
Innovate Her and UpRising and a number of our team
are STEM Ambassadors, working with local schools
and colleges to inspire future talent.
We’re also a founding partner of Kerning
The Gap in the North West, a collective of
like-minded people who want to see more
women in design leadership roles, hear their
voices and be inspired to create change.
Speak to our COO or our Culture Team
to find out how you can get involved.
27
Contribution
To encourage our people to give back to the wider
community, we offer employer-supported volunteering
This is where you can take paid time off to
volunteer during your working hours.
The cause or charity you give your time to is
completely up to you – but you can always pick up an
opportunity through The Future Confident initiative.
Examples of this policy includes:
- Delivering careers talks in schools
- Fundraising, or supporting, community projects, or
charities
- Working with youth groups
- Environmental work and conservation projects
- Being a charity trustee or a school governor
VOLUNTEERING
Since 2015 we’ve raised over £11,000 for The
Whitechapel Centre and Mind. We’ve scaled Ben Nevis,
Scafell Pike and Snowdon and run a whole host of
races. We regularly run in the Liverpool spring 10K
annually to raise money for local causes, and we
even have our very own winners cup! If you’ve got
a good idea for our next challenge and want to get
involved please speak to the Culture Team!
CHARITY CHALLENGES
If you’re passionate about a charity and want to
take part in a fundraising event, we’ll support your
individual fundraising efforts with matched funding
for all good causes up to £200 per person annually.
To claim your matched sponsorship please speak to
the Culture Team.
MATCHED SPONSORSHIP
28
Contribution
We want to make sure Uniform has a positive
impact on the world, and cultivate a culture of
sustainability through increased awareness and
behaviour change.
We’ve been working on implementing better
behaviours and reducing our environmental
impact in areas such as energy, waste, food and
packaging. We’ll ensure we’re carbon neutral by
2022 and we’re constantly looking at how we can
reduce our impact on the world.

29
WELLNESS
From SimplyHealth and The Circle Line,

Menopause is not a taboo or ‘hidden’ subject at the
studio.
We have an open, honest, and understanding working
environment to ensure anyone experiencing the menopause
feels more comfortable.
Our wider team is encouraged to learn more about the
topic and it’s also discussed as a group at our regular
wellbeing lunches.
This policy includes:
– Temperature control at the studio
– Desk fans (provided upon request)
– Flexible hours to accommodate disrupted sleeping
patterns and other symptoms
– More frequent breaks
– Access to our Employee Assistance Programme for
practical help and advice
– Wellbeing services including access to counselling via

MENOPAUSE SUPPORT MENSTRUAL HEALTH
Our menstrual health policy is designed to protect and
support any member of the team who experiences periods.
This also includes – and will be even more beneficial
for – those with menstrual conditions or related
complications.
Your menstrual health should not be a barrier to your
career at Uniform and we’ll happily facilitate different
ways of working to support your wellbeing during your
period.
This policy includes:
– Absence that isn’t classed as sickness and won’t affect
your Bradford Factor score.
– Paid leave for medical appointments including
examinations, scans, tests, and mental health
appointments
– Paid leave and support for operations
– Medical support via Simply Health
– Wellbeing services including access to counselling via
The Circle Line
Our cycle to work scheme is a great way to get
a bike for less, get fit and reduce your carbon
footprint.
We are working with Green Commute Initiative to
provide bikes using the tax incentives as part of
the Government’s Green Transport Plan.
You can spread the cost of a bike (now also
including e-bikes) and commuting equipment like
lights, locks and panniers (all tax free) over a
maximum of 18 months.
Choose your bike (and accessories) up to the value
of £3,000, find a retailer, submit your quote to
GCI, tell your preferred salary sacrifice duration
and we’ll handle the rest. Plus there’s plenty of
keen cyclists in the team to chat routes, gear and
punctures.

34
OPENNESS
We encourage openness, listening and
empathy. We’re transparent about the
way we run our business, and through
initiatives like PechaKucha for new
team members we get to know, and
understand each other better.
35
We conduct pulse surveys throughout the year to
gather feedback on what we are doing well and what
we could improve. We listen to your feedback and
use it to help inform the action we take.
The Best Companies annual survey tells us how
satisfied our people are and helps us focus our
attention on the right areas for development.
BEST COMPANIES PULSE SURVEYS
We deliver a regular calendar of group wide
updates to keep you up to speed on our strategy,
business performance and the brilliant work we
produce. It’s a transparent approach to help
everyone understand where we’re going, how we’re
doing, and how you can play your part in our
success.

be invited to join the Uniform PechaKucha hall of

career journey so far and your hopes for your
future both here and outside of Uniform.

All new starters are assigned a buddy who helps

  • 3. UNIFORM GROUP IS A MODERN FAMILY OF CREATIVE BUSINESSES, FULL OF BRILLIANT PEOPLE, WORKING IN OUR LIVERPOOL STUDIO, AND REMOTELY, ALL OVER THE WORLD. Introduction 3
  • 4. We’re in Design Weeks Top 100 consultancies, in the top 75 Best Companies to work for in the North West and received the Workplace Wellbeing Charter in 2019. So it looks like we’re doing okay. Introduction 4
  • 5. 5 STUDIO FACILITIES A spark of inspiration, a place to get your head down, or the latest tech – we’ve got it all, and if we’ve not, just ask.
  • 6. Our Liverpool studio is a fantastic creative environment on the top floor of Bold Street Studios – a creative and digital workspace hub that we own and run. Bold Street Studios encompasses our studio HQ and our tenants, Fourth Wall publishing, creators of children’s content, based on the 2nd floor. It’s right in the heart of the city with independent shops, restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Good luck resisting our neighbours Bundobust when you head out for lunch. Our studio is kitted out with private booths, breakout spaces and a big social kitchen so there are places made for throwing ideas around and collaboration but also spots to hunker down. Studio Facilities LIVERPOOL 6
  • 7. YOU’LL HAVE ALL THE KIT AND TECH YOU NEED TO PRODUCE YOUR BEST WORK. Studio Facilities TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES We’ve got the right technology and hardware to enable us to collaborate effectively whether we are working from home or in studio. Sophisticated meeting room tech enables us to hold effective distributed meetings and workshops. So you’ll have all the kit and tech you need to produce your best work, wherever they are. CONTINUOUS: HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE Our creatives use the latest Apple hardware running Adobe Creative Cloud for teams and have access to other specialist kit such as Wacom tablets, photography equipment and software like Sketch. Our film creatives work across a range of software including Cinema 4D, After Effects, Premiere and the full Adobe Creative Suite. For live action work our in-house filming kit includes a 4k Sony Cinecam, lenses and a range of Arri lights and LED panels for both studio and on location filming. SOMEWHERE: HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE Our CG artists work on high-end workstations with access to an in-house Deadline managed renderfarm, using industry standard software including 3ds Max, VRay, Corona, Fusion and Adobe Creative Suite. We use Virtual Workstation technology so that our Somewhere team can work effectively whether in studio or remote. We also keep ahead of the game constantly experimenting with new technologies and hardware. 7
  • 9. 9 WORKING MODELS We operate both hybrid remote working models with a flexible hours policy, to ensure everyone has the best work life balance and we can work with the best people across the UK and beyond.
  • 10. Our working models HYBRID WORKING REMOTE WORKING Hybrid working allows you to split your time between attending the studio and working remotely. We expect you to spend 2-3 days per week of your working time in the studio. The number of days per week you spend in studio may vary depending on: • The nature of your role • What is happening within your team at any particular time • The needs of our business • Your individual circumstances Hybrid working takes the positives from working remotely through the pandemic and applies them to our working practices. It also reinforces our commitment to supporting a positive work-life balance for our staff. Hybrid working is available for all staff that are not permanently remote. For those who do not live within commuting distance of the studio, permanent remote working is also an option. As a remote worker you will be expected to attend the studio around 6-8 days per year. As well as in person time with your team and clients (if applicable), you’ll also come to the studio for team events, company presentations and socials. If you’re permanently remote we’ll also provide you with equipment such as: • Laptop stand, or • Teradici Monitor (for specific roles) • Keyboard, mouse and/or tablet • Mobile phone (if applicable to your role) • Ergonomically suitable chair • General office supplies (as required on request) Whether you are hybrid or remote, you can take advantage of flexible working hours. You can choose to work the hours that suit you and base your day around your family, personal commitments, or just working when you’re most productive. Our core hours are 10.00am – 4.00pm and you can start earlier or finish later as long as it fits with your client, team and project demands and you communicate this clearly. FLEXIBLE HOURS 10
  • 11. MONEY MATTERS Brilliant work should be recognised and while accolades and awards are great, they don’t pay the bills. That’s where our benchmarked salary packages and industry–leading benefits come in. 11
  • 12. Money Matters PENSIONS PERFORMANCE BONUS SENIORITY UNIFORM CONTRIBUTION MIN. EMPLOYEE CONTRIBUTION Junior-Senior 4% 5% Management/ Associate 6% 5% Board Director 8% 5% We’ve got your future covered with a Royal London pension scheme. Our employer contributions are above the industry average, incremental based on seniority, and you can choose the level of employee contributions you want to make. We think the whole team should be recognised when the business does well. That’s why our group–wide bonus scheme rewards everyone when we exceed our profit target. It’s a profit related scheme and individual awards are based on service in the current year, seniority and performance over the past 12 months. It’s paid annually when the business exceeds its profit projection. 12
  • 13. A GROWING TEAM We hire people based on talent, not location. Ours is an international team and if you’re thinking about remote working or relocating to join us we’ll support and guide you every step of the way. 13

  • 20. CARERS PREGNANCY LOSS Family Matters We understand that caring for a loved one long-term can make some days challenging and unpredictable. These caring responsibilities can be acquired suddenly or develop over time. Either way, our carers policy ensures that you’ll be supported and offered the same recruitment and career opportunities as everyone else. This policy includes: – Remote and hybrid working models with flexible hours – Emergency leave – Holiday purchase scheme – Private spaces for your personal calls at the studio – Employee Assistance Programme for practical support – Wellbeing services including access to counselling via The Circle Line We’re committed to supporting all employees who suffer the loss of a pregnancy. Whether you’re the mother, partner, or surrogate mother, you’ll be fully supported regardless of your length of service. This policy recognises pregnancy loss as a bereavement and one not isolated to women or heterosexual couples. This policy includes: – Two weeks’ paid leave – Paid leave for medical appointments – Flexible working including temporary changes to hours or workload – A phased return to work – Camera off during video calls – Medical support via our Employee Assistance Programme – Wellbeing services including access to counselling via The Circle Line 20
  • 22. No matter who you are, your beliefs, background and experiences, you should feel that you work in a culture where you are valued, respected and belong. To make sure we live up to this we build our culture around 6 themes: Recognition, Contribution, Wellness, Openness, Connection and Inspiration. Our programme of events is planned by our culture team with this in mind. So from the Uniform Awards to supporting causes that matter and from Pulse Surveys to Flexible Working, the Culture Team help us to maintain a sense of belonging everyday. RECOGNITION We recognise you for your accomplishments. CONNECTION We connect socially and personally. OPENNESS We listen to each other and express opinions openly. WELLNESS We support your physical and mental wellbeing. CONTRIBUTION We play a part in helping others belong. INSPIRATION We get inspired and inspire each other. 22 AT UNIFORM WE STRIVE EVERY DAY TO CREATE A SPACE WHERE EVERYONE FEELS A SENSE OF BELONGING.
  • 23. RECOGNITION From the annual Uniform Awards to a simple thank you and well done, we recognise the achievements, commitment and passion that our people put in to their work. 23
  • 24. Recognition GOING BEYOND Going the extra mile doesn’t go unnoticed. We don’t expect our team to work all hours but sometimes, in our fast paced business, a few extra hours are needed, whether its a weekend filming, or a few additional hours to hit a deadline, we appreciate it. If you’re working late we’re happy for you to expense food in the studio or a taxi ride home, and when agreed with your line manager, you can take some time off in lieu or we’ll pay you overtime. UNIFORM AWARDS The Uniform Awards is an annual peer-to- peer awards programme that allows our people to recognise each other’s efforts, work and commitment. Award categories range from Leader and Entrepreneur to Pioneer and Champion and are all voted for by peers. 24
  • 25. Forget bringing cakes in for your birthday… At Uniform we supply the cake and you get the first slice. If you’re in the studio, we source our cakes from local bakery, Cuthberts who have an extensive menu of goodies to choose from, and if you’re remote, expect a special surprise delivery! Recognition BIRTHDAY DAY OFF We think birthdays should be celebrated and treasured. So, if yours falls on a working day you get the day off – see your family, stay in bed, do whatever you like. BIRTHDAY CAKE 25
  • 26. CONTRIBUTION We encourage everyone to think beyond work and help others. You can spread the cost of a bike (now also including e-bikes) and commuting equipment like lights, locks and panniers (all tax free) over a maximum of 18 months.
