2. STARTS WITH ENDS WITH
What should I do to inherit
eternal life?
Go, do likewise.
3. Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all
your strength and with all your mind.
And love your neighbour as yourself.
Deuteronomy 6:5 & Leviticus 19:18
5. THE SAMARITAN
(The Jews had no dealings with the
Samaritans.)
Love in action.
Dresses his wounds – wine to disinfect and oil to
soothe.
Takes him to safety.
Pays for his care.
He will return.
His caring continues.
10. COMPASSION COSTS
SOMETHING
He paid the equivalent of 2 day’s
wages.
He was prepared to give more.
Jesus gave everything that love could
give.
11. COMPASSION SPEAKS
OF JESUS AND OF OUR
RELATIONSHIP WITH
HIM.
The gentle heart of Jesus in a suffering
world.
We become like the one we spend
most time with.
12. FINAL THOUGHTS
Our neighbour is anyone we encounter.
We may need to set aside our prejudices.
We may encounter people with problems,
difficulties, lonliness, unhappiness, low self
esteem etc.
One small gesture, one kind word.
Prepare for the event – “Lord, use me today
– make me a blessing.”
