Foundation Comparison
OSGeo and LocationTech are both organizations that support open source geospatial software. OSGeo is a non-profit foundation that aims to support collaborative development and promote widespread use of open source geospatial software. LocationTech is an Eclipse working group that develops advanced location technologies. Both organizations provide resources for projects like code sprints, marketing assistance, and incubation processes to help projects with open development. The incubation processes differ in some ways, with LocationTech providing more automated processes through the Eclipse infrastructure and more frequent IP reviews, while OSGeo incubation can take 1-6 years but provides more flexibility. As a Business Process Management Software (BPMS) vendor, we at Bonitasoft face the challenge of addressing diversified projects from various industry sectors.We believe that the key to our success in doing so is to remain a generic solution. Yet, too much genericity may weigh on end-users and this can lead to rejection.
Because Open Source is part of our roots, we value the capability to customize and extend our solution. However, despite proposing an open source code, the problem we faced a couple years ago was that there were too few people willing or able to contribute to our core.To counter that, we have continuously developed extension points in our software to simplify the act of contributing and we have provided a platform for sharing contributions.
Adopting this strategy has proven to be rewarding and we have been able to leverage the creativity of our community. It has allowed us to avoid the pitfall of releasing a software that is generic but not flexible enough and instead, deliver tool that allows building business applications that can adapt to changes in real time.

- Europeana has achieved support from various organizations and has nearly 5 million digitized objects online through a partner network of 200 institutions. An object data model and governance model have been designed and a prototype developed. 8 million euros in funding has been secured.
- The vision for 2011 is for Europeana to become an aggregator, distributor, catalyst, innovator, and facilitator that generates revenue. Key goals are to automate ingestion, improve data quality, resolve intellectual property issues, manage user generated content, improve search capabilities, and secure long-term funding.

The Open Source Working Group - Open World Forum 2009
The Open Source WG is a competitiveness cluster in France focused on open innovation. It brings together companies, universities, and other organizations in the greater Paris region to collaborate on open source software projects. The WG funds pre-competitive R&D projects through competitive applications. It has funded 14 projects so far totaling €12M, with €25M in total project budgets. The WG aims to foster innovation in open source development and help SMEs through support for R&D projects, networking with other organizations, and programs to accelerate growth.
Creating a commercial PaaS offer based on Fiware
This document discusses a cooperative project between Netzlink Informationstechnik GmbH and the FIWARE Foundation to improve Netzlink's FIWARE workflow. The Open Source Working Group - Open World Forum 2009
The Open Source WG is a competitiveness cluster in France focused on open innovation. It brings together companies, universities, and other organizations in the greater Paris region to collaborate on open source software projects. The WG funds pre-competitive R&D projects through competitive applications. It has funded 14 projects so far totaling €12M, with €25M in total project budgets. The WG aims to foster innovation in open source development and help SMEs through support for R&D projects, networking with other organizations, and programs to accelerate growth.
Creating a commercial PaaS offer based on Fiware
This document discusses a cooperative project between Netzlink Informationstechnik GmbH and the FIWARE Foundation to improve Netzlink's FIWARE workflow. Currently, deploying FIWARE takes about one workday. The project aims to build a Platform as a Service (PaaS) on OpenShift to provide a "1-click" deployment of FIWARE components in minutes. It will include an easy to use marketplace, deployment of General Enablers as Docker containers, and a "pizza team" approach using agile methodology. The outlook describes plans to create a Netzlink Github and professional PaaS offerings by June 2018 to help migration, new applications, and DevOps skills transformation.

FusionInventory at LSM/RMLL 2012
This document provides an overview of the FusionInventory project. It discusses that FusionInventory is an open source inventory and asset management solution that integrates with the GLPI asset management platform. It allows for network discovery, inventory collection, Wake-on-LAN functionality, software deployment, and VMware ESXi inventory via APIs. One year of FusionInventory
FusionInventory has grown significantly in its first year, with nearly 50 contributors and up to 3,000 daily users. The agent has been stable for Linux/Unix/Mac systems and supports new features like HTTPS and UTF-8. Version 3.0 is being rewritten for lower memory usage. Plugins have been developed for GLPI including hardware/software inventory, network discovery, and upcoming deployment capabilities. Self-contained agents support over 50 systems and are rebuilt hourly for easier deployment. The project aims to improve testing, documentation, and integration with GLPI.
GLPI talk at FOSDEM 2011
The GLPI project is an open-source IT asset and inventory management system first released in 2003. It allows users to track hardware, software, financial information, warranties, and history of assets. It also handles incident management, authentication and access control, and provides specialized interfaces for managers, IT engineers, and end users. The project has over 60 plugins available and is translated into 33 languages.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

High performance Serverless Java on AWS- GoTo Amsterdam 2024
Java is for many years one of the most popular programming languages, but it used to have hard times in the Serverless community. Java is known for its high cold start times and high memory footprint, comparing to other programming languages like Node.js and Python. In this talk I'll look at the general best practices and techniques we can use to decrease memory consumption, cold start times for Java Serverless development on AWS including GraalVM (Native Image) and AWS own offering SnapStart based on Firecracker microVM snapshot and restore and CRaC (Coordinated Restore at Checkpoint) runtime hooks. I'll also provide a lot of benchmarking on Lambda functions trying out various deployment package sizes, Lambda memory settings, Java compilation options and HTTP (a)synchronous clients and measure their impact on cold and warm start times.

The expansion of AI services necessitates enhanced computational capabilities on edge devices. Temporal Event Neural Networks (TENNs), developed by BrainChip, represent a novel and highly efficient state-space network. TENNs demonstrate exceptional proficiency in handling multi-dimensional streaming data, facilitating advancements in object detection, action recognition, speech enhancement and language model/sequence generation. Through the utilization of polynomial-based continuous convolutions, TENNs streamline models, expedite training processes and significantly diminish memory requirements, achieving notable reductions of up to 50x in parameters and 5,000x in energy consumption compared to prevailing methodologies like transformers.
Integration with BrainChip’s Akida neuromorphic hardware IP further enhances TENNs’ capabilities, enabling the realization of highly capable, portable and passively cooled edge devices.
