The Globe Theatre was an open-air amphitheatre in London built in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men, that could house up to 3,000 spectators. It burned down in 1613 but was rebuilt on the same site and reopened in 1614. While its exact dimensions are unknown, evidence suggests it was approximately 100 feet in diameter and three stories tall.
