The Game Clue: Othello

Introduction
You and your group are a team of elite
detectives assigned to solve the mystery
behind who conspired the rumors of
Desdemona and Cassio, which later resulted in
her death. Without having read your books
yet, you must use them as your tools along
with the internet to find clues and backtrack
the plot of, “Othello”.
Tasks
• Look at all of the main characters
-including their alibis
• Check for motives
-if any of them had a reason to set it up
• Read up on the scenes and make sure you
understand where and what state the characters
were in at all times
-including drunk, unknowingly hiding
Process
• Get together into your assigned groups
• Read out of your Othello books and use the
internet for other research if necessary.
• Compare clues/discuss which characters are
guilty.
• Declare who the culprit behind the rumors was
and write a one page summary of your group’s
thoughts.
Resources
• “Othello”. Shakespeare, William
• Any website your group finds to support
character theories of your antagonist.
Evaluation
It is important that your group narrows down
at least two suspects and gives reasons why
they should be held accountable for their
actions that contributed to the murder of
Desdemona. It should be clear that you have
read the book by listing quotes and scenes
from the book also in your one page
reflection.
