INTRODUCTION
The Future Foundation School is a Kolkata-based K-12 school
founded in 1981. It follows the syllabus of the Council for the
Indian School Certificate Examinations. It is guided by the
principles of Sri Aurobindo and, Mira Alfassa. Students are
prepared for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education
(ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC). Humanities and
Science Streams are offered at the ISC level. The Future
Foundation School is an initiative of the Sri Aurobindo Institute
of Culture. It is a co-ed school and, the medium of instruction is
English.
The school is accredited to the National Accreditation Board for
Education and Training, under the Quality Council of India. It is
the first school in India and one of the first few in Asia to receive
the Label Franc Education accreditation. This quality mark is
awarded to academic institutions which have the goal to promote
a system of bilingual teaching to students by the French Ministry
of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The school has been ranked 24th
best co-ed school in India by Education World for the year 2019-
20 and is also the recipient of Leading Schools Corp.
HISTORY OF SCHOOL
TFFS was promoted in 1981 by Joya Mitter (1936-1999), a
Kolkata-based social activist, with the aid and advice of P.K.
Bhattacharya (1905-1984), a trustee of the Sri Aurobindo
Ashram, Pondicherry. The duo was introduced to Lakshmi Devi,
a Sri Aurobindo disciple, by The Mother. Lakshmi Devi donated
her sprawling home in Tollygunge, Kolkata to the ashram,
which invited Joya Mitter to establish TFFS on its premises.
Joya Mitter served as founder-principal of the school in its
formative years and modeled it on the ancient gurukul system
of teaching. After her demise in 1999, Ranjan Mitter was
appointed as the principal of the school.
The aim of the school is to develop children holistically so
that they become responsible and conscious human beings.
The Future Foundation School is a co-educational school
and it began its voyage in 1981, inspired by the ideas and
educational philosophy of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo.
The Future Foundation School is an initiative of Sri
Aurobindo Institute of Culture. The medium of instruction
is English.
AIM OF THE SCHOOL
The school is affiliated with the Council for Indian School
Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. Children are
prepared for the ICSE and ISC examinations.
The school has been selected as a member school of the
“Leading Schools of India”. A certificate for recognition as
one among the top 40 best schools of India was conferred
to the school by “Leading Schools Corp,” which is the
world’s first and only auditing and certification body that
honors qualifying institutions across countries.
Admission Eligibility & Criteria
 To be eligible for admission to Class I, a candidate should
complete 6 years of age but not attain the age of 7 years on
March 31 of the year in which admission is sought.
 Admission to Classes II to IX is strictly against
 Admission to Class XI- (i) academic performance in Class
IX (ii) academic performance in Class X: Half Yearly
examinations, internal assessments, classwork, homework
(iii) timely submission of Projects/ Practical files.
All students of Class X who pass ICSE from The Future
Foundation School are ordinarily offered admission to
Class XI unless there has been any serious disciplinary
issue concerning the student. Students who seek admission
are counseled and offered an appropriate stream
depending on their interest and aptitude, as observed by
the school authorities.

From Monday to Friday
Arrival: 8.20 a.m.
Dispersal:
Classes 1 to 7- 5.15 p.m.
Classes 8 to 10 – 4.15 p.m.
Classes 11 and 12 – 3.30 p.m.
In absence of Scholar Classes:
Classes 1 to 5- 2.10 p.m.
Classes 6 to 12 – 2.20 p.m.
School Fees
Admission fee, Session Fee, Tuition, and any other fee other
than Security Deposit, paid at the time of admission or later
will not be refunded for any reason whatsoever.
The School has one-time admission fees, payable at the
beginning of Class I and Class XI. Further, there is Session
Fees payable quarterly during the Academic Session and
Monthly Fees payable by the 10th of every month.
The name of a student will be struck off the rolls, should the
Fees remain unpaid beyond three months.
