The Future Foundation School (TFFS) is a premier K-12 school in South Kolkata founded in 1981 on the principles of Sri Aurobindo. 2. TFSS Background
The Future Foundation School is founded on the principles of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, and it is inspired by their light. Smt.
Joya Mitter 1936-1999), a devotee and cultural enthusiast, founded the school in 1981 and modeled it after the ancient Gurukul
and was guided by Shri Pradyot Kumar Bhattacharya (1905-1984), iconic engineer and trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram,
Pondicherry. Shri Ranjan Mitter took over after his death in 1999, and over the past two decades, he has transformed the school
into a modern and future-proof institution. It is an organic extension of Arun Nursery, which was named and blessed by the
mother Shri Arun Tagore
Shri Arun Tagore, a respected lawyer from the famous Tagore family lineage, founded the pre-school and obtained permission
from the government and it was on 4th September 1972

5. Admission Eligibility & Criteria for TFFS
1. Information for admission is given on the website and the school notice board.
2. To be eligible for admission to Class I, a candidate should complete 6 years of age but not attain the age of 7 years on
March 31 of the year in which admission is sought.
3. Admission to Classes II to IX is strictly against vacancy.
4. Admission to Class XI (for internal as well as external students) shall be at the discretion of the school authorities
based on the (i) academic performance in Class IX (ii) academic performance in Class X: Half Yearly examinations,
internal assessments, class work, homework (iii) timely submission of Projects/ Practical files.
5. All students of Class X who pass ICSE from The Future Foundation School are ordinarily offered admission to Class XI
unless there has been any serious disciplinary issue concerning the student. Students who seek admission are
counseled and offered an appropriate stream depending on their interest and aptitude, as observed by the school
authorities.
