he moon shined as if it was the sole source of illumination. Under it he sat with her
on his side, he looked at her with a look he had never given before, the grinning
smile gave it all out, kissing her on forehead and looking up in the sky he said thankTyou and took a bite of the apple.
He was a normal teenager with the same old story; he had a girl who dumped him, friends
who betrayed him, parents who didn't believe in him. He had given up all hopes and
existence of a better place. Walking down the old neighborhood he saw an old man
shivering in cold. The boy was sad at heart but not stone hearted. He took off his jacket
and wrapped it around the old man, "Here you go, this will keep you warm." he said. The
old man looked at him with tears' pouring down; he gave a look as if the boy was the first
person in the world to help him. "Have this." the old man said as he wiped his tears and
taking out an apple from almost nowhere, "Eat it wisely and you'll live all you want." he
said. The boy gave a puzzled expression and came home with the apple, kept it on his
shelf and slept.
The next day the same old tragedies of life got him to believe that the world is a very
bad place to live and he went up to his room and broke into tears. He wept his heart out
and then tried sobering up. While sitting in his gloominess, he looked at the apple and ate
it without giving a thought to whatever the old man had said and slept.
The next morning turned out to be the best morning of his life. His dad jobless since ages
got a job and for first time in years their family actually laughed with joy together. With a
happy face he was walking down the same old way to school when he bumped into a girl.
It seemed that God had created her to show off his powers; beauty at its peak. She
apologized and helped him pick up his books; they exchanged names and got to know that
both of them have the same classes the next day.
One thing lead to other and in no time they started dating and he became happy. Now he
had a girl who loved him, a bunch of new made friends who made his life a paradise and
suddenly just because his dad got a healthy paycheck, there were no more problems at
home. So finally he had the dream life that he always wanted.
THE
FORBIDDEN APPLE
One night happily returning from a party, he suddenly saw the same old man
he had seen months ago whom he had taken the apple from. The old man was
not appearing needy and weak. He was grinning and giving a devilish charm.
He got scared and ran. While running, the lines of the old man kept echoing in
his head "Eat it wisely. You'll live all you want".
Lines and random pictures from the last few months kept hitting him…
How can all go right? He said to himself. How is it possible that nothing wrong
happened to me in the last few months? No one can have a lucky streak so long.
Something does not add up…something is definitely wrong.
Running his way to home with this wild myth, he tripped and fell, banging his
head on the side of the road. With blood running down his head he felt it all
going gloomy. He was about to go blank when he saw the old man coming up
to him and saying, "Here you go boy, you look hungry". And offered him an
apple
His hands were shaking, but in desperation, he took a bite of the
apple, and in a flash he went through an illumination so bright that
caused him to close his eyes. And the moment he opened his eyes
again...
The moon shined as if it was the sole source of illumination.
Under it, he sat with her on his side. He looked at her with a
look he had never given before. The grinning smile gave it all
out. Kissing her on her forehead and looking up in the sky, he
said thank you and took a bite of the apple.
