Syncing up with business mobility: A look at the capabilities and uses of fil...Carbonite
Mobile devices and virtualization have transformed traditional notions of the workplace. With greater connectedness to their IT infrastructures, workers can access digital assets from any connected device, at any time of day, and automatically disseminate changes across devices. Additionally, the ability to share files with cloud-connected colleagues facilitates collaboration without regard to geographic location, the only prerequisite being a connection to the Internet.
The increased use of mobile devices and cloud-based file services for business tasks—commonly referred to as “enterprise mobility”—is responsible for a 34% increase in worker productivity, and an additional 240 hours of work performed per worker, per year. No doubt, the upside potential resides with proper implementation. For best results, file synchronization and sharing platforms should be used for productivity and collaboration; they’re ill suited to the task of backing up critical business data.
In this white paper, we’ll highlight the key features of file synchronization and sharing platforms, and data backup for business. We’ll also examine how an all-in-one solution can support both enterprise mobility and business continuity for small and medium businesses (SMBs).
Organisations today are faced with several challenges to ensure that their employees can meet the needs of the business. Their common concerns include the following:
• How to prevent collaboration overload while still promoting knowledge sharing within the enterprise?
• How to regain efficiency by the use of these collaboration tools?
• How to ensure that confidential information is protected?
If businesses no longer require a traditional domain controller what does that means for the IT resellers? How can you utilise the latest cloud services to not only provide identity but security and management for customers? Will this mean a change of business model or simply an integration of new services and techniques into your current offerings? This session will help you understand the direction your business needs to focus on to take full advantage of the evolving cloud services that are fast making traditional domain controllers redundant.

Document management software helps users create, manage, store, track, and send electronic documents and digital versions of paper documents. This is a standard feature of any DMS, but the best ones also have a number of other features that help speed up business performance. The term is often used the same way as Document Management Software, which stands for “document Management Software system.”
With a land grab happening for new software markets hosted in the cloud, we wanted to revisit this classic phenomenon to see if it still applies today. What we found is that it’s even more extreme, with 80% of data uploaded to the cloud going to less than 1% of cloud services.

Storage Made Easy Case Study | InfiniDrive from SMEHybrid Cloud
A blue-chip services organization receives, processes and shares almost 1/2 TB of new video each day. That’s hundreds of thousands of files from thousands of remote cameras. Their issue was that as the volume increased the existing file-based storage platform could not keep up. The solution was the InfiniDrive cloud drive from Storage Made Easy which allowed the existing applications to access object storage just as if it was a ‘normal’ file system.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
