EDITING
PACE-Slow Editing
As we can see that this scene is a conversation between
mother and daughter but how it lasts shows that this scene is
quite slow paced the clip that I had seen was only 50 seconds
and this takes 22 seconds of the initial part
We can see that its moving slow to build up effect and it really drags the
conversation over the 20 seconds. When we see her face as she is talking
to her daughter it is 4 seconds which reverts back to the girl for a second
then back to her for 2 seconds
The shot we se of him is when the conversation is still taking place and this shot
last or roughly 61/2 seconds. Its slow on purpose due to the fact that its here to
give insight on how they are. Out of the 50 seconds 20 have and another 8 seconds
have gone when she talks to her husband. So we can say that this conversation is a
build up to something.
CRASH
We see right after the slow pace conversation that
they head straight into a collision which happened at
the end of the last conversation.
We can then see theses poles flying through the air and about
to crash through the window.
We see the pierce through the window shot and now and the fast
pace editing kicks in when the poles become unleashed and this is
to show tat everything has happened so fast that the victims cant
comprehend
What we can see that from the slow pace conversation it
jumps straight into a fast paced scene where suddenly
there's a crash and then before we can react we see
poles fly through the window and then we see him being
killed. Which the reverts back to slowly zooming out
giving us a high angle view which shows the aftermath.
We can see from the shot above
that this is where the
conversation ends and by being
slow pace it was building up and
by watching this we instantly
know that something bad is going
to happen and then it cuts
straight into fast pace as soon as
the crash happens.
EFFECTSWe can see that the pole about to kill him but we
can see that it is CGI because at the end of that
the pole its vanishing, so there is no impact but
because of the fast pace and the camera shots it
gives the impact feel.
The impact and the blood on the back of the seat is also
CGI but if you look at the front we can see that there is no
pole entering him but because of the blood splatter and the
fast pace we are led to believe the pole did piece him but
upon closer inspection are we able to see that its effects.
The blood and the pole piercing
the head is an effect but its NOT
CGI the pole was put through a
dummy.
The impact on the car is shown on this scene and we can can
see from image that this was NOT CGI and if you see the image
at the bottom by the doors we can see a pool of blood this was
also an effect showing us that there was so much blood.
TRANSITION
We can see that this was the only transition used through
this whole scene and we can say that this is because we
know what's happened and there is no more context left so
we can the presume the next part. We can also say that this
could be the soul of the husband leaving.
