God's divine purpose is to establish his kingdom on Earth by summing up all things in Christ and creating a new humanity. The Bible presents the unified story of God working to fulfill this purpose, starting with creation, the fall of man, and God's plan of salvation unfolding through Israel and culminating in Jesus Christ. Now the church continues God's work of reconciling the world to himself and creating a new humanity as it carries the gospel to all nations.
Romans 15:8-33 men who minister 25 jan 2020Rodney Tan
This document summarizes a sermon on Romans 15:8-33 about men who minister. It outlines that the sermon discusses 3 ministries: 1) Jesus' ministry to Jews and Gentiles, 2) Paul's ministry to Jews and Gentiles, and 3) the Gentiles' ministry to Jews. For Paul's ministry, it was received by grace, centered on the gospel, done for God's glory through God's power, and according to God's plan for Paul to preach where Christ was unknown. Paul traveled over 1,400 miles from Jerusalem to Illyricum fully proclaiming the gospel through signs, wonders and the Holy Spirit's power.
The document provides an overview of Revelation chapter 1, discussing John's vision of Jesus on the island of Patmos and Jesus' letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor. It examines historical context, symbolism, and interpretations of the vision and letters. Key points covered include John's banishment to Patmos, Jesus appearing as the high priest, and the meaning of the letters for both the original churches and believers throughout history.
This document discusses the dangers of compromising biblical standards and conforming to worldly practices in order to gain popularity or converts. It provides several quotes warning against lowering the standard of truth, conforming to tradition over Scripture, and uniting with worldly customs. Compromising the gospel message and adopting pagan practices is what led to the apostasy and corruption of the early church. True conversion comes through preaching repentance from sin and elevation to Christlike standards, not by accommodating sin. Faithfulness to God and his word should be the highest priority, over seeking popularity or victory.
God said "Let there be light", and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day" and the darkness "night", marking the beginning of the first day of creation according to the biblical account.

The document discusses how creation declares God's beauty, power and goodness, but also the brokenness caused by sin. It references passages from Genesis describing God creating the heavens, earth and everything in it, seeing that it was good. Romans is cited explaining how creation groans under its present limitations but awaits redemption. The conclusion is that as creation cries out about God, it should drive us to worship Him.
The document discusses different methods of interpreting biblical prophecy, including preterism, futurism, and historicism. It argues that the historicist method allows prophecies in Daniel and Revelation to be understood as predictions of events from the author's time to the present. Specifically, it identifies symbols like beasts and horns in Daniel as representing successive kingdoms from Babylon to Rome. Rome is identified as persecuting God's people for 1,260 years, which historicists apply to the period of papal supremacy from 538 to 1798 AD. The document also discusses principles like the "year-day" principle and typology that aid in interpreting prophecies involving symbolic time periods. The culmination of these prophecies, it suggests
This document provides an overview and analysis of the messages to the seven churches of Asia in Revelation chapters 2-3. It summarizes each church's situation and strengths/weaknesses, and maps them to historical periods of the Christian church. Each church faced different challenges: Ephesus lost its first love; Smyrna faced persecution; Pergamos compromised with paganism; Thyatira tolerated false teaching; Sardis had a reputation but lacked spiritual life; Philadelphia remained faithful despite opposition; Laodicea thought it needed nothing from God. Jesus' messages to each church provide timeless counsel for believers of all eras.

1. The document outlines God's epic story from creation to the final establishment of God's kingdom on earth.
2. It describes how God created the world and humanity, but sin entered through man's rebellion, leading God to send Jesus Christ to redeem humanity.
3. The story concludes with Jesus defeating all enemies and establishing a new heaven and new earth, where believers will reign with him forever.
This document provides a summary of Lesson #3 from a series on the Unity of the Gospel. It discusses the importance of unity in the early church and examples of threats to unity. While unity was important, truth could not be compromised. The document also examines Paul's confrontation with Peter over the issue of requiring Gentile Christians to follow Jewish customs like circumcision. Paul believed this compromised the gospel message of salvation by faith alone.
The document discusses the historical uses of the term "gospel" and its meaning in the Bible. It explores how the gospel was proclaimed by the Greeks after victories and by Caesar Augustus about his rule. The Bible defines the gospel as the good news about God's kingdom brought by Jesus, who died for sins and rose again. The gospel involves repenting from sin and believing in Jesus as Lord to enter God's kingdom. Jesus commissioned his followers to make disciples of all nations by proclaiming this gospel and teaching obedience to all his commands.
This document discusses signs in the sun, moon, and stars as mentioned in Genesis 1:14 and other biblical passages. It explores how the biblical feasts of Leviticus 23, such as Passover and Pentecost, were fulfilled by Jesus and relate to future events. The document suggests the rapture may occur on the Feast of Trumpets based on passages like 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. It examines symbols like fig trees and the number patterns in biblical passages to argue important biblical events occurred in Jubilee years, including Israel becoming a nation in 1948.

1) Christian salvation involves being united with Christ through faith, which roots a person in Christ's redemptive work and shapes them to be like Christ.
2) Union with Christ is the central truth of salvation, with people being chosen in Christ before creation and their salvation established through Christ's work.
3) Salvation involves being regenerated, or made alive in Christ, and continuing to live by faith in union with Christ through which a person is justified, sanctified, and ultimately conformed to Christ.
This document summarizes key points from the biblical passages of Ezekiel 37:1-14, Ezekiel 47:1-8, Ezekiel 47:9-12, Isaiah 61:1-11, and Micah 6 about God's ideal for His church. It provides 5 summaries:
1) A Church that Revives - God's Spirit revives His people like dry bones and empowers them for good works.
2) A Church that Grows - Like a small spring that becomes a large river, the church modestly spreads life throughout the earth.

1. The document discusses worship in the Book of Revelation, noting that amid dramatic images, the theme of worship repeatedly appears.
2. Sections discuss how Revelation depicts worship of God as Creator, Redeemer, and Judge. Scenes in heaven show various beings worshiping God for what He has done on earth and throughout history.
3. Revelation 13-14 center on the final crisis surrounding worship - of God or the beast. Those who worship the beast face persecution, while those whose names are in the Lamb's book of life worship the One who offers salvation.
THE FOUNDATIONS OF TRUE WORSHIP AND THE SABBATH - The Three Angels' Messages ...Sarpong Boateng Josiah
The first angel calls the world to Worship the Creator of The Heavens and Earth and all there is in it. There are many Christians worshiping in the world, but how do we know we are worshiping aright ? In fact how do we know we are worshiping the Creator God of the Universe. This presentation delves into the foundations of True Worship!
Angels are created spiritual beings that serve God and assist humans. There are different types of angels including cherubim and seraphim. Angels worship God, carry out his commands, deliver messages, and protect and guide believers. They will also participate in end times events and judge fallen angels like Satan. Satan was originally a high-ranking angel named Lucifer but fell from heaven due to pride. Fallen angels include those who joined Satan's rebellion.
This document discusses principles for interpreting biblical prophecy, including:
1) God can foretell future events through prophecy, as verified by prophecies fulfilled in history.
2) There are different approaches to interpreting prophecy (preterism, futurism, historicism).
3) The "year-day principle" interprets some prophetic time periods as representing years rather than days.
4) Daniel and Revelation symbolically depict successive kingdoms and end-time events leading to judgment.
5) Typology identifies historical people/events that prefigure spiritual truths or future fulfillment.
6) Correct interpretation points to 1844 as beginning the judgment and the return of Jesus.
The document provides an overview of the Book of Acts. It notes that Acts was written by Luke as a careful investigation and eyewitness account. Acts tells about the work of the Holy Spirit through the apostles after Jesus' ascension. The document outlines the first chapter of Acts, including Jesus' instructions before ascending, the disciples waiting in Jerusalem, and the selection of Matthias to replace Judas. It analyzes key parts of chapter 1 in more detail.
The document discusses the biblical promises of God creating new heavens and a new earth. It summarizes that:
1) The current earth and heavens will be destroyed, but God will create new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells and death no longer rules.
2) In the new creation, sin will be destroyed and all its effects like death and suffering will be removed. God will make all things new and restore His creation.
3) God's role as Creator did not end with the initial creation - He will supernaturally create the new heavens and earth, restoring and fulfilling His original purposes.
The early believers gathered together constantly in prayer as they waited for the Holy Spirit to come. They prayed with purpose to be Jesus' witnesses, with unity among themselves, and with persistence, knowing God's willingness depends on persevering prayer. They also prayed for guidance in selecting a successor to Judas as one of the twelve apostles. After considering the candidates who were with Jesus from the beginning, they cast lots and Matthias was chosen.
The document discusses scientist Francis Collins' views on reconciling faith and science, specifically regarding evolution and the origins of life. It summarizes Collins' perspective that scientific evidence shows evolution occurring over millions of years, guided by God. The document also examines interpretations of Genesis and contrasts young earth creationism with views that see God using evolution as His mechanism for creation over long periods of time.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. This verse from Genesis 1:1 summarizes that in the absolute beginning, prior to the existence of time itself, God through His own power and will brought into existence the heavens and the earth. Some argue against this verse, but it establishes God as the sole Creator and authority over all things.
This document discusses how God is pouring out His Holy Spirit on children around the world. It provides several examples of children in countries like Nepal, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ethiopia, Peru, Cuba, Spain, Scotland, Dubai, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and India experiencing the Holy Spirit through prophesying, speaking in tongues, having visions, interceding in prayer, ministering to others, preaching, and healing. The document encourages the reader to help carry revival to children in their own nation through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The document discusses the emergence of the early Christian church following Pentecost. It covers three main topics: 1) The formation of the first Christian community in Jerusalem as described in Acts 2:42-47. 2) The persecution faced by the early church from Roman authorities who saw Christianity as a threat. Christians were persecuted for three centuries. 3) How the church developed and grew during periods of persecution, with martyrdom becoming a central theme in Christianity that inspired believers to remain firm in their faith.
This document provides information about Pentecost Day and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It outlines 5 simple steps to receiving this gift: 1) Being born again, 2) Believing it is for you, 3) Desiring the gift, 4) Asking God for the gift, and 5) Believing you have received it once prayed for. The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers believers and changes their lives, enabling them to do God's will. The document encourages readers to ask God to fill or refill them with His Spirit so they can please Him.
The document summarizes the key events and significance of Pentecost according to the biblical account in Acts 2:1-4. It describes three main points: 1) The disciples gathered in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost as Jesus instructed. 2) Visible signs accompanied the Holy Spirit's coming, including a rushing wind and tongues of fire over each person. 3) These signs marked the beginning of the promised age of the Spirit and God's salvation being available to all who call on the name of the Lord.
The document discusses how the Holy Spirit works to purify believers like metals refined by fire. It asserts that the Holy Spirit uses trials and convictions to remove sins, making people acceptable to God. Symbols of the Holy Spirit like water, fire, and wind are said to help explain these refining works. Believers must go through this spiritual "fire" and make sacrifices to be freed from corruption, just as metals like iron must be purified at high heat to remove impurities. Only by relying on God during this refining process can one become strong in faith and acceptable to God.
The document outlines the 3 dimensions of faith: doctrine which involves believing in God and answers the question "What can I know?"; morals which involves doing God's will and answers "What should I do?"; and worship which involves entrusting God and answers "What I hope for?". Each dimension is associated with a question, subjective experience, Filipino equivalent, focus (creed, commandments, or prayers), human faculty (mind, will, or heart), apostolic prayer (to know, to serve, or to love), and value (maturity, freedom, or spiritual joy).
The document discusses the work of the Holy Spirit. It explains that the Holy Spirit works in mysterious ways that are often hidden or behind-the-scenes. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus and works to attract people to Him. It also discusses how the Holy Spirit played a role in Creation, in the life and ministry of Jesus, and now works in the lives of believers to teach them about Jesus and transform them into His likeness through the fruit of the Spirit.
The document discusses the Holy Spirit as a divine person rather than a force. It provides examples from Jesus and scripture describing the Spirit's personal aspects like teaching, testifying, and interceding. While the Spirit is not visible like Jesus, referring to the Spirit as a "power" or "force" is illogical based on biblical passages that refer to the Spirit's will, love, and ability to be grieved - all personal traits that a non-personal force could not possess. Surrendering fully to the Holy Spirit as a divine person allows God to transform us and prepare us for His work.
The document describes the biblical account of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples. It references several key elements of the Pentecost story, including Jesus telling his followers that they would receive the Holy Spirit; the disciples speaking in tongues; and the crowd being amazed and perplexed by what was happening. The document also includes several quotes from scripture related to Pentecost and the Holy Spirit.
The Knowledge Gap Theory proposes that as the amount of information from mass media increases, those with higher socioeconomic status will gain knowledge at a faster rate than those with lower socioeconomic status, widening the gap in knowledge between the two groups. It predicts that both high and low SES groups will increase knowledge but high SES groups will increase more. Possible reasons for the knowledge gap include communication skills, existing knowledge, social contacts, selective exposure, and how media targets certain markets. While knowledge gaps may occur, they are not permanent, and can be reduced by certain conditions in content, channels, social factors, community structures, and individual motivation. The theory has been criticized for its traditional view of communication and for not ensuring the knowledge
The young church had a fear of the Lord. Should we fear the Lord? What does it mean to fear the Lord? Why is fearing the Lord a good thing for believers in a Loving God?
This document summarizes the history of a church relocating to a new property. It discusses how in 1996 the church voted to relocate and formed a relocation committee. From 1996-1998, the committee looked for land, signed with a realtor, and found a new pastor. In 1999, the church began following "The Faith of Abraham" in searching for land. In 2005, the church found and sold 10+ acres of land for $450,000 to a new owner, having originally purchased it for $300,000. The church used the funds to begin building a new location to bring glory to God.
This document outlines a pastor's sermon on the sin of hypocrisy. It discusses how hypocrisy was a problem among the Pharisees, the church of Laodicea, and Achan in the Bible. It notes that hypocrisy can affect church members, men and women, and husbands and wives. Motives for hypocrisy include focusing on group participation over a personal relationship with God, caring more about what people think than God thinks, and living for the present rather than eternity. The document calls Christians to be full of the Holy Spirit, God's grace, and ministry of encouragement to avoid hypocrisy.
This document contains notes from a sermon on Acts 3:11-26 given by Pastor Rich Sevilla at Heritage Baptist Church on October 20, 2013. The sermon focuses on three main points: 1) exalting Jesus by explaining who he is and what he did, 2) confronting sinners about their guilt while expressing God's heart of forgiveness, and 3) proclaiming God's grace in sending his son to bless and change people. The notes provide scripture references and subpoints for each of the three main sections.
The document is a summary of a sermon delivered by Pastor Rich Sevilla at Heritage Baptist Church on May 5, 2013. The sermon introduced the Christian concept of the Trinity, explaining that there is one God manifested in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It then focused on the Holy Spirit, describing Him as the believers' source of power and companion to replace Jesus on Earth. The Holy Spirit is said to abide with believers forever, dwell within them, teach them truth, and be even better for them than Jesus.

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
