An accomplished financial services professional, James Raphalian recently retired from his position as senior managing director with Charles Schwab. He currently advises the congenital adrenal hyperplasia nonprofit CARES. James Raphalian’s career highlights include serving as president of the Security Traders Association of New York. An affiliate of the national Security Traders Association, the Security Traders Association of New York (STANY) has been serving members of the financial services industry in New York, New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut for more than 80 years. The organization recently gathered virtually for its 2020 annual meeting. In addition to outlining the accomplishments of current STANY leadership and outgoing president Patty Koetzner, the 2020 STANY Annual Meeting welcomed incoming president James Hyde and gave him the opportunity to present his mission and strategies for 2021. The meeting also included a featured speech titled “Why Now Might Be the Best Time to Launch a Company: 12 Reasons to Press Forward, 6 Reasons to Hesitate” by Curbicus founder Anna Gannon and Supernode Ventures founding partner Laurel Touby.
