Certifications in Green and Blackbelt Project
Management from New Horizons. She is also a seasoned
spoken word poet who has been developing her writing
skills since childhood. She has learned strong leadership
skills while attending Naval Aviation School to become a
computer systems technician in the military. Her ability
to communicate effectively, listen empathetically, drive
innovation through creative problem-solving, and plan
strategically is one of a kind.
Early Life
Victoria's passion for inspiring people started at a very
young age at a little white church in Beaumont, Texas.
There she learned the power of the spoken word and the
art of delivering a message with rhythm and genuine
emotion in a powerful way. She soon started writing
poetry at eleven and spoken word at about 16, fascinated
by language and its ability to take people on an
emotional journey. As a teen, Victoria wanted to know
everything there was to know about, how to uplift and
inspire people, and after the military how to heal them
too.
Victoria joined the Navy as an Aviation electronics
technician and it taught her how much she loved helping
other people and the discipline it requires to be good at
it. The military showed her what it means to lead a group
through some of the toughest environments mentally,
14. physically, and emotionally. And it left her wanting to do
more, so hours after being honorably discharged she took
her first psychology class. She fell in love! Discovering
the science behind how the mind works felt like
Disneyland, learning how mailable the brain is, and how
thoughts create energetic waves was fascinating. About 6
months after getting her BS in Psychology She started
working on Certifications to better assist the people she
was advising. Victoria got her Certifications as a Green
and Blackbelt Project Manager and learned how to
translate goals and desires into achievable projects.
Throughout her career, Victoria has received many
awards for her leadership skills, ability to facilitate
perspective shifts, spoken word performances and lyrical
eloquence. As a Navy sailor, she received multiple 'Plane
captain of the month' awards as well as a Cag 7 coin for
exemplary leadership as shop supervisor during a
detachment. She has received numerous academic
awards and recognition for outstanding academic
performance and is a Distinguished Texas Scholar.
Victoria has been featured in Woman Entrepreneur
Magazine and spoken at TEDx McHenry about the
science behind spoken word poetry. She recently
developed a project called “Spoken Free” to help
rehabilitation efforts of at-risk youth and has been a
volunteer with the COGIC for over 10 years.

the biggest challenge Victoria has faced is unconscious

works subtly against women entrepreneurs. It refers to
the inherent stereotypes we all develop regarding people
such as beliefs about others based on ethnicity or gender.
We are unknowingly influenced by these biases, which
effects our interactions and decisions without truly
knowing we are doing it. Some bias's women face
specifically include double-bind bias and assumption
bias, which presents a challenge for me and any woman
in leadership.”
Victoria's approach to entrepreneurship is to constantly
17. develop higher levels of self-awareness. According to
her, just like in the military, the journey of an
entrepreneur requires quite a bit of self-mastery to thrive.
“The better I am able to understand myself as a person,
my strengths and weaknesses, the better prepared I can
set and accomplish the goals I've created. Understanding
how I am perceived by others and how that is constantly
evolving helps improve my interpersonal relationships.”
Victoria believes, another challenge faced by various
women leaders who are slowly emerging, is the lack of
sponsorships, which eventually stops the growth of many
female entrepreneurs. According to Harvard Business
Review, women struggles more than their male
counterpart to reach the c-suite due to the lack of good
sponsorships, which provides much-needed
steppingstone opportunities. “
Motivating Leadership Teams
The vision for Victory Is Us LLC is to: “inspire,
motivate, and support both young and senior leadership
teams through building self-awareness, self-
management, and problem-solving skills to master a
lucrative career and passionate personal life.” During
the next 3-5 years Victoria plans to focus on acquiring
funding for expansion, increasing brand awareness,
building clientele, and further developing the
organization's Spoken Free Project. The Spoken Free
Project is a rehabilitation program designed to help
marginalized youth gain the skills necessary to transition

and her makeup running down her face she investigated the
options. She wanted makeup to be healthy while staying on

diver and swim/yoga coach Ruth Osborn, often in remote

Sports HAI is currently in the process of creating new
products that perform to the highest standards for those who
sweat, discovering that it was gaining consumers who sweat
for reasons other than sports. Sports HAI's clients play a
major role in the brand-building process, taking client
feedback into consideration when creating formulas. We
want to make effective products using healthy ingredients,
that we use ourselves and our loved ones.
Journey of a Women Entrepreneur
Grace's entrepreneurial journey hasn't been without
challenges, as any woman-led start-up, the statistics are that
only 2.3 percent of venture capital goes to Women Founded
Start-ups. When asked about her journey as a woman
entrepreneur in a male-dominated world, she said, “I've
been lucky to find investors with experience in the beauty
space, who are not venture capitalists.”
As part of the market research for Sports HAI Grace has
participated in a couple of Marathons, in New York and
London, as well as multiple half Marathon's and triathlon.
Getting out of the comfort zone is part of the job. Starting a
startup is not glamourous, it is high risk and full of
challenges. keeping focused and finding ways to inspire
people to come on board who are prepared to believe in the
idea and work with no financial reward, at the start.

We all know the effect of the ongoing pandemic on the
industry. Coronavirus has changed the way beauty business
used to work. Covid-19 gave the startup some time to re-
strategize the brand and its offerings.

athletes look and feel great about themselves, whether they
are running a triathlon or sweating it out on a gym. The
company's launch of the Active Skincare range includes a

22. Imagine if you landed in New York from a small
town in Oregon to study art and fashion design at
Parsons School of Design/The New School and
within two weeks were scouted to model by a
photographer for Harper’s BAZAAR magazine while
standing on a street corner. Sounds fascinating! Right?
This is the story of Charis Michelsen, the
Founder/CEO of Fashion Style Beauty Network.
Modeling led to acting in movies for Charis, and while
on set, she was inspired by the wonderful work she saw
created by make-up artists and stylists, and decided to
take classes to get her professional makeup artist's
certification for fun. She’s since worked as a national and
international spokesperson and product educator for one
of the world’s most prestigious cosmetic brands and a
makeup artist for celebrities, music videos, and movies.
During her tenure as a spokesperson for the cosmetic

privileged experience and journey with her
entrepreneurship in Canada. She has the utmost respect for
any women on their business development journey and she
understands there are challenges for women that she hasn't
had to face. She feels governments should be more gender-
neutral and offer the same privileges to females as their
male counterparts.
Daily Routine
Lisa is a creature of habit. She goes to bed and wakes up at
the same time every day. She's up at 6 am. Check emails
and text to make sure nothing pressing needs to be
addressed.
Lisa then heads to her morning workout followed by a

When the Pandemic Came
The last 2 years have been extremely challenging for
everyone, small businesses like The Skin Girls have
had a tough time. Last-minute cancelations, increase in
staff absence and just an overall decrease of customers
have been a challenge. The firm has tried multiple
strategies to date, and they haven't been very
successful. However, with things opening up and,
receding infection numbers, Lisa expects to come
out of this challenging situation, soon. However, Lisa
feels, the industry is constantly evolving. So, there's
the need to always be up to date on the latest technology,

When it comes to the future, Lisa plans to expand her
skincare line SkinEdtion. She has already launched a

ince its appearance in the 1960s and its progression
with the rise of micro-computing, video games have
regularly benefited from the advances of the digital
world to become an art form in its own right and a
globalized and intergenerational leisure activity.
As streaming (or Cloud Gaming) reshuffles the cards in the
video game industry and 5G promises to accelerate its
democratization, let's take a closer look at its contributions
in terms of convergence, uses and business models, and
why we think it will be the video game medium of
tomorrow.
Computers have never been able to do without video
games. Proof of this is the 1960s and 1970s, which saw the
appearance of the first so-called popular games such as
Spacewar in 1962, Pong in 1972 (a very basic tennis game)
and Space Invaders, which were often accessible primarily
on desktop machines, the ancestors of our current
microcomputers.
With the miniaturization of the computer will come the time
of the consoles connected to the television set and which
will propel the game in the domestic universe. The video
games leave the closed framework of the game rooms to
invite themselves in the heart of the living rooms and
families.
Over the next 40 years, screens will have so invaded
our daily lives that the use of games will now be based
on a wide variety of media: televisions, computers,
arcade terminals, smartphones, electronic tablets,
Smart TVs... and of course consoles, the latest of
which are in 3D.

Wii®) or transportable consoles (e.g. Game Boy, DS and
PSP). In addition to wireless joysticks, there are gyroscopes
that detect the position of players' movements in space.
Futhermore, virtual reality is becoming more and more
present (for example, immersive interactive simulation:
visual, sound, haptic). In addition to technological advances
and thanks to the emergence of social networks, the world
of video games has become more social and cultural.
Pokémon GO and World of Warcraft have become social
phenomena and confirm what everyone has already
understood.
Video games have now become a key sector in the
entertainment industry and a multi-billion dollar industry.
Indeed, the world of video games is populated by characters
that have become famous such as Pokémon, Mario, Sonic,
Pac-Man, Rayman or even Lara Croft, which will give rise
to as many franchises and animated or cinematographic
adaptations.
• Cloud Gaming or the emergence of a medium
With the arrival of Cloud Gaming technologies, video
games are on the verge of a third revolution marked by:
- Ultra availability: This is the possibility for everyone,
everywhere and all the time to indulge in the joys and
pleasures of video gaming. This promise is about to be
fulfilled thanks to the deployment of 5G, among other
things, but also to the ability of Cloud Gaming solutions to
adapt to bandwidth constraints, particularly in emerging
countries where economic barriers and low bandwidth have
long restricted access to video games.
- Ultra pricing: It is characterized by a variety of business
models: unit purchase, unlimited subscription, introduction
of a digital currency NFT to obtain virtual objects,
freemium, more or less immersive and personalized
advertising spaces and which all correspond to as many
user profiles. They will cautiously but surely relegate to the
background the ecosystems associated with console-type
media and the closed ecosystems symbolized by the Apple
App Store.
- Ultra playability: Servers managing sophisticated games
in agnostic mode, strong involvement of players from game
creation to participation in metavers, disappearance of
social, demographic and geographic boundaries.
- Ultra-convergence: Video games inspire and aspire other
art forms and converge with other disciplines such as
medicine, which have integrated them into the therapeutic
field (neurology, autism, cancer…).
One of the most striking examples of this convergence,
born during containment, is the development of virtual
concerts. The most recent example of experimentation in
this field is certainly the concert of the rapper Travis Scott
which took place on Epic Games' license: Fortnite. By
launching a game, players were able to enjoy a creatively
staged virtual concert, in which they could move freely
around the star's avatar in a performance realized through
motion capture techniques.
In another turn of events, the video game world, after
having plundered the musical heritage to provide
soundtracks like the GTA franchise for Rockstar Games'
Grand Theft Authority, sees this same publisher investing

objective of having original music directly available and
appreciated by its community, while playing the game of
distribution via music streaming platforms.
Generation Z had adopted YouTube as the single screen for
their video explorations, overtaking their parents' television
and platforms like Twitch.
Generation Alpha will probably be the one of the
Metaverse, a concept at the crossroads of virtual reality and
social networks using video games and their uses.
Microsoft's recent acquisition of the giant Activision-
Blizzard for $68.7 billion will accelerate the growth in
Microsoft's gaming business across mobile, PC, console
and cloud and will provide building blocks for the
metaverse”as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed.
Of course, the virtual world is not in its infancy. Gaming, in
particular, has been investing it for several years. Second
Life, a virtual world that created a buzz among some 30
million users in the early 2000s, is a good example. Since
then, the gaming industry has been offering its own virtual
worlds, with increasingly elaborate and interactive content,
like the virtual mini-concerts of the game Fortnite and their
12 million spectators.
But these universes remain limited to their own game,
whereas the metaverse intends to sign the advent of an
interconnected virtual world and draw the contours of a
future Web 3.0.
Everything will then be a question of the virtual
experience's quality. A few milliseconds too much delay in
an interaction, the expression of a face (the metaverse
promises to reach this level of detail) or worse, an
interruption of service, and these new virtual offers will
disappoint.
So, metavers and other virtual worlds will only take off, if
they can rely on storage, connectivity and network
infrastructures that are up to the challenges that Cloud
Gaming is currently facing.
• Cloud Gaming reinvents and democratizes the
gaming experience
Cloud Gaming technologies, which are omnipresent among
telecom operators, are now at the heart of the development
strategies of console manufacturers and video game
publishers, and are on the way to converting almost all
gamers, thanks to an increasing improvement in
performance in terms of accessibility, playability and
graphic quality.
They still have to find the right balance between economic
models and creativity, mass consumption and inclusiveness,
openness and respect for ethical rules.

struggle, and entrepreneurship. This is the story of
Meena Krishnan who is the President and CEO of
Inoventures, LLC. Her story stands to show how

sudden tragedy of losing her entire family (she grew up
with) in a car accident, Meena was stunned on her career

company certainly shares its joy with the industry via
traditional social media. However, the organization believes
in being humble and authentic to its mission-critical
customer base. Then its customers spread the word about
the brand which is the most essential ingredient for
sustaining brand value.
Tackling the Pandemic
Inoventures is doing its business in the Public Health
domain, and it has been making a difference at the Indian
Health Services in preventing COVID 19 among the 500
plus Tribal populations. The company just proposed a
unique approach to contact tracing within those
populations, adhering to the cultural sensitivities of the
tribal communities. While it is always able to rapidly
deploy cutting-edge technology, it can also scale back, as
needed, if a tribal population requires a different approach.
In some cases, Inoventures proposed appointing cultural
ambassadors with whom the populations feel comfortable
sharing information. As a result, there is a better dialogue
between Inoventures and the populations, enabling faster
data collection and analysis resulting in accurate solutions
delivery. The methodologies are the same, but the
mechanics are different, in terms of the delivery.
Suggestions for Young Entrepreneurs
When we requested Meena for a piece of advice for all the
upcoming entrepreneurs, she says, “When it comes to
business, men and women face the same challenges. Being
aware of these challenges and creating support systems
wherever possible will be critical. No challenge is the same
so recognizing our strengths and weaknesses will allow us
to seek help when needed.” She also added, “As women,
connecting with fellow women leaders will be a critical
factor in helping each other so I recommend organizations
like Women Impacting Public Policy and Women In
Technology to consider as they have made a difference for
women leaders.”
Future Roadmap
Moving forward, both Meena and Inoventures is focused on
expanding their Public Health and COVID-19 prevention
solutions—such as improving existing contact tracing
methods through advanced technologies. Furthermore, the
company is actively collaborating with more modern
technology partners, providing them both business
opportunities and a window into the vast sphere of public
health. These partnerships also lend to Inoventures'
commitment to continually upgrade on the technology
front, as evidenced by the recently launched Health Cloud
solution that runs on the AWS platform. Furthermore, the
company offers its clients unique procurement
methodologies, enabling customers to procure work more

38. rash! I was in a car accident that would change my
Clife forever. I awakened with gobs of hair on my
pillow and each time I took a shower, clumps of
hair would clog the drain. I fell into a deep depression and
couldn't believe that all of the hair over my entire body was
gone. I was a bald woman living in a society where hair
defines a woman's beauty. How could this be happening to
me?
I figured that I had two choices, I could survive and be
miserable, or I could learn to thrive and help others along
the way. I had an epiphany and soon learned how to take
my thoughts off autopilot and rewire my own thinking to
achieve any result that I wanted. “If you can't change your
circumstances, learn to change your perspective” became
my motto.
We all have wonderful gifts, like fingerprints. When you
take the leap of faith to open up and share your
vulnerabilities, you can help so many people. Now, I'm
showing women entrepreneurs how they can empower their
minds and create ground-breaking success in their own
businesses.
What happened next? I got married, moved to New York
and my daughter, Jess, was born. A few months after her
birth, my ex-husband decided that he didn't want to be a dad
and left us. Instead of panicking, all over again, I used the
same process I used to help me get over losing my hair and
guess what happened? It worked! I changed my
perspective and everything turned out positively for Jess
and I. This made me think, “if I could get over losing my
hair, my husband, my house (we were homeless for a short
time during the divorce) and still have hope, I could apply
these principals into the business side of my life.
Success began following me in whatever I decided to
do. It seemed almost like “magic.” No matter what
I wanted to accomplish, I accomplished it. My
check list was growing.

As you see, my simple neuroscientific system has allowed
me to do whatever I want in life and in my business, with

Five years ago, I ended up in the hospital for nine days with
a 106.1 fever. I had a sinus and throat infection, influenza,
pneumonia and strep A seeped into my blood; I was in
Septic Shock! I had a rare brain infection and almost died. I
began teaching my body how to kill off the infection, one
white blood cell at a time. The doctors said my recovery
was a miracle, but I let them know that it was actually
based in science and my knowledge of understanding how

throat surgeries, two broken ankles and nothing has stopped

During the pandemic, Premier Care updated its approach
to business, as many other companies have and most
administrative work, appointments, and interviews were
done online. The world became digital and Tamara
alongside her team adopted a new lifestyle very quickly
and safely. Life felt different, times were very
challenging, clients felt isolated, as care giving company,
Premier Care had to give a tremendous amount of
support. Despite all of the challenges, Premier Care has
maintained a good reputation, demand is still growing,
need for home care services has also increased.
Entrepreneurship in a Male-Dominated Society
Tamara says, “It's ironic that most home care agency
owners are males and have strong business and money-
making skills. Some of them even come from wall street
or banking backgrounds to do home health care
business. Women are different than men and we have a
different approach for this type of business.” She also
adds, “We put our hearts and souls in what we do, we
personalize our service., we hear peoples' problems, we
salve their problems and we take very good care of our
employees.”
Although she believes, the Home Health Care field has
the majority of female workers, who include nurses,
social workers, case managers, and doctors.
When it comes to entrepreneurship, Tamara considers it
as the core of the American Dream and there are several
approaches to it including Sociological, Psychological,
Political, etc. She feels entrepreneurship is a constant
desire to make things better, ability to recognize
opportunity, and create value. Each client gives Premier
Care different ideas and requires a different approach, for
Tamara and her team, it's a learning curve and one rule
doesn't apply to all. Clients have different ethnicities and
different cultures, it's critically important to have the
ability to understand the feelings and needs of others.
Tamara feels she and her team needs to be good leaders
and role models to their employees, that's what makes
them want to follow them. She feels, an entrepreneur is
not a common person, they have creative, managerial,
and imaginative skills and this kind of personality
develops in a person who has a strong motivation for
achievement.

Tamara says, “We are maintaining an excellent

agency creates a happy environment for its workers and

Tamara is an immigrant from another country, plus as a
female, speaking with a foreign accent, many years
worked very hard and became one of luckiest people and
now, her story is a true success story. She says, “America
is the country where all your dreams come true. Dream
and dream again, have a passion, have a goal, be honest,
stay positive, work hard and never give up, if I did it, you
can do it.” Her story inspires others. She sees things
differently than others. Tamara adds, “When you get to
this stage where you see your potential and capabilities,
your mind opens wider, all your fears fade and you are in
control benefiting yourself and others as well. Be open-
minded and never mean, rude, insecure or jealous. Learn
from your mistakes. Be happy for others and always give
help. Generosusity is magic word, you must give whether
it's good emotion or a monatery thing. Concentrate on
quality only and don't let greed control you. Do what you
are good at, what is your talent, what your heart tells
you, and it will all happen naturally. Every person has
some skills, they just have to use them and they will
succeed.”
