to the airport, this campus is governed by strict security
norms and each building requires a NOC from the law
enforcement agencies before the building can be made
operational. There are two independent bodies which do
the due diligence, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security
(BCAS) and Special Security Committee, comprising of
mainly senior officers from Delhi Police and IB.
There are broad guidelines that need to be followed and
security arrangements to be done to comply with them.
And there was no concession allowed from either of the
two agencies. Either comply 100% or don’t operate the
building. This was an experience, where security had its
own budget and for the first time in India, a building
needed NOC for security clearance.
Worldmark-2 was the first building, for which Acktron
was awarded the order for implementing the required
security arrangements. They had signed an undertaking to
assure the client that no matter what it takes, they will
ensure a smooth handover of the project after getting them
through the inspection process.
Acktron had put in all their resources and got excellent
support from their resources for out of the way expedited
deliveries. Their operations team has worked day and
night to complete the work in time.
For Acktron, it was one of the most stringent trials that
were being done, but their team was enjoying the
experience and answering confidently to the queries raised
by the inspection team. The visiting team went away after
the inspection and the message was received after 48 hours
that the approval has been granted by the visiting team.
Also, their client was extremely happy with the outcome.

Future Developments
Presently, Acktron is working on technological
advancements of facial recognition system and AI
(Artificial Intelligence), specific to security applications.
Already investments have been made by the company on
the subject, in terms of dedicated manpower, training,
infrastructure and client awareness.

enforcement agencies to assist them in narrowing down
from a list of millions of suspects on a live or recorded

managed to establish Zicom?
As the Managing Director for Zicom, I lead the
innovation and strategic business to establish the name
Zicom synonymous with electronic security. Using my
entire 22 years of business experience, I oversee the growth
of Zicom in all aspects. Be it finance, business
development, admin or marketing, I’d like to be involved in
the crucial business operations. I’d like to approach
problems head on and solve them methodically, and there
are times when I often think of out of the box solutions. My
approach towards work involves inspiring people to push

Around ‘95 when the liberalization and globalization wave
was sweeping the country, we entered in the security based
business as it was very promising. But we suddenly found
ourselves confronting hard facts — the security device
industry was virtually non-existent. We barely had the
finances to keep afloat — spending on branding was a
distant dream. We didn’t have deep pockets and decided to
raise money via the IPO route. Also the credibility of a
public limited company is much greater than a promoter led
company.
3. What are the major challenges or opportunities that
the company has faced in its years of establishment to be
a pioneer?
The market is growing at an exponential rate and Zicom

We have a new service launched and it is called
StreetSmart, a new vehicle passenger safety solution from
Zicom. StreetSmart comes with Accident SOS Alert that
sends an alert sent to emergency contacts in case of an
accident. In the most isolated areas also, its Roadside
Assistance, connects user to the ZICOM Command Centre
which is available 24/7 and 365 days of the year, in case of
a breakdown. This center which is one of the best of its kind
is well-equipped to provide a user real-time assistance
anytime, anywhere.
As StreetSmart follows a preventive approach towards
safety, its Rash Driving Alert senses the speed over a pre-
determined speed limit and sends a rash driving alert to the
user to prevent any chance of an accident. Air Conditioner
Alert, GPS tracking, Towing Alert all help the users.
