1) Christians should meditate on God's word day and night so they can obey it and be prosperous and successful, as God commands them to be strong and courageous because he is always with them. 2) Even if Christians suffer for doing what is right, they are blessed, and they should not fear any threats but instead always be ready to respectfully explain the reasons for their Christian hope, while having a clear conscience, as it is better to suffer for doing good than for doing evil if it is God's will.

2. Joshua 1:8-9
This Book of the Law shall not depart from
your mouth, but you shall meditate in it
day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written in it. For
then you will make your way prosperous,
and then you will have good
success. 9 Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and of good courage; do not be
afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your
God is with you wherever you go.”

3. 1 Peter 3:13-17
Suffering for Right and Wrong
13 And who is he who will harm you if you become
followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should
suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And
do not be afraid of their threats, nor be
troubled.”15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts,
and always be ready to give a defense to everyone
who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you,
with meekness and fear; 16 having a good
conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers,
those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be
ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to
suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
