Thailand's disaster information systems are not well coordinated and do not effectively support decision makers. Government data and information is often stored in documents like Word files that are difficult to access and analyze computationally. There is a need for Thailand to create a single, open disaster data system that consolidates information from different ministries and makes the data available via open standards and APIs to support uses like mobile apps, analysis tools, and crowdsourcing systems. This could help improve coordination, access to information, and disaster response efforts in Thailand.
