1. Text2Mindmap is a web application that converts texts into mind maps by interpreting structured lists of words or sentences and drawing a mind map.
2. The tool can be used to generate mind maps from texts that can then be improved on collaboratively by students.
3. Mind maps created with the tool can also be used as quiz tools by making headings questions and subheadings possible answers for students to choose from.
Blockchain is changing the way we interact and trust each other, starting with our money. In this talk I present the potential of the technology and warn about some known pitfalls. I work with some analogies for an easier understanding of this complex new computational paradigm and play with the "status quo".
Na palestra discorro sobre a tecnologia blockchain e seu diferencial, as inovações que já são realidade como o Ethereum, das promessas futuras e das falhas catastróficas como o DAO.

As educators, we are constantly assessing our students’ understanding of their learning to inform instruction and evaluation. When we can see and hear how they are processing and making meaning of concepts and skills, we can provide more targeted instruction and support for their success. In this session we will explore ways teachers and students can use applications and web-based resources to demonstrate and document thinking and learning.

2. Text2Mindmap “Text 2 Mind Map is a web application that converts texts to mind maps. It takes a structured list of words or sentences, interprets it, and draws a mind map out of them” The tool is available at: http://www.text2mindmap.com/
4. How to use the tool Text 2 Mind Map is a web application that creates a mind map out of a list of words. For example, the text: Months of the year Winter December January February Spring March April May Summer June July August Autumn September October November
5. How to use the tool can be converted to the mind map below:
6. What to do with this tool with students in teaching and learning a foreign language: 1-Mind maps can be generated using this tool and we can ask students to improve the mind map, so students may create a collaborative mind map which includes a great variety of different ideas. This can be done under these headings: Verbs, Adjectives and Nouns. I can provide a text for students, they can analyze the text and distinguish verbs under the heading: verbs, adjectives etc…
7. 2- To use this tool as a quiz tool. I can make headings as questions, and sub-headings as answers to a specific question. Students may choose an answer for each question, and tell why they have chosen that answer. Through this activity, students would have experienced some different way of quiz than classic methods.
8. 3- Another option is to create a random mindmap which includes different terms under different topics and asks students to place these terms under appropriate headings. The mistakes could be corrected by other students, during this time, students will be talking to each other and the collaboration will be increased as students enjoy the activity.
9. 4- The last method may be generating a mindmap and presenting it to students in the lesson while teaching several terms such as colors, months, days etc... Especially when showing colors, students can see and learn the color without any explanation. Using this method, students will learn how to use a mindmap.
10. Anticipated problems and possible ideas to avoid or deal with such problems: 1- This is an online tool so internet connection is vitally required. If the internet doesn’t work, people can not use the tool. To avoid this problem, I could save to my computer or flash disk. Therefore you can use this tool without internet connection.
11. 2- If students do not understand how to use a mindmap, it will cause a problem. If I can show them how to use the tool, they won’t have this problem.
