5. Parents Petition
 I applied for family based permanent residency on behalf of my mother; I filled out the form by
myself without knowing exactly how it should be done. Then, my mother came out to visit me.
That was when I wondered about the possibility of her obtaining permanent residency without
her actually leaving the US. I, then, searched on the internet and found Mr. Peerally there. He

7. Another Parent’s Petition
 I would like to recommend the Law Offices of Shah Peerally www. peerallylaw.com/ for the parent(s) green card
processing. I hired them for my mother's green card processing (California) and got the green card in a little over 5
months, without having to go for an interview. The interview is usually waived if the documentation that is mailed in
is precise and complete.
My answer to the (anticipated) question of - Why did you hire an attorney, is the process not simple? ... I am aware
that a lot of people file for this processing without an attorney and are successful in processing the green card. A
couple of my close friends ran into one glitch or the other in the recent times, which took them well over 18 months.
Not wanting to risk this and also not having the bandwidth to follow up the paper work, the law changes, I decided
to hire an attorney.
I asked for recommendations on this list and another Oracle employee recommended Mr. Peerally. I talked to a few

consultation check ( which ranged from $80 to $250 ). Mr. Peerally was gracious to take my first call, outline the

knowledge and decided to hire him.
During our first meeting in his office, we went over the specifics of the case, the documentation that would be
required. He outlined the potential problems that may arise (specifically to do with the name changes in the Marathi

documentation to their office. During the second meeting they had the packet put together and ready to go after our

fingerprinting three times. To get around this, they asked us to submit a criminal clearance. Mr. Peerally guided us

clearance.
All through the process, Mr. Peerally and his office staff were prompt on the email. They kept me informed about the
next step, anticipated time frame and also guided us through the SSN application, State Id, DL applications.

11. Delayed Citizenship issue
solved!
 On Dec. 29, 05, my wife and I were interviewed. They awarded my wife oath and
"
citizenship then and there, but they told me that they had not received my FBI
background check clearance then, therefore suggested me to wait.
I have been living in the US for over 21 years now, I guess at FBI my file was red-
flagged for manual process, that means at the bottom of huge pile--easily 5-6 years wait
period. After 6 months, I called a couple of attorneys to get advice; they suggested I
could not do anything but wait. I contacted local congressman for assistance.
After 12 months, I wrote a letter to the director FBI; his office did not even bother
replying. I kept calling USCIS periodically, but got the same answer, "We cannot process
your case until we get clearance from the FBI, it is a law." I guess I had no choice but
wait. Almost 18 moths passed by, one night in mid August 2007, I discussed my matter
with Shah Peerally in a close family friends dinner invited by a common friend. Shah told
me that he already had successfully won 7 cases through the court; so he advised me to
file a law suit.
Late August 07, I submitted papers and hired his law office as my attorney. Early Sept.
07, Peerally Law Office my file was transferred from San Francisco to Sacramento court,
because I live in that jurisdiction. Oct 17, USCIS decided to adjudicate, hence the case
