- 3. What is Mencap’s Spellathon? Spellathon is a free, digital spelling competition for UK schools, open to all ages and abilities. The aim, collectively as a school, is to spell as many words correctly as you can, in class and at home, using free Spellathon spelling resources whilst fundraising for Mencap.
