A tennis bracelet is a piece of jewelry that consists of a thin, flexible band set with a continuous line of small, closely set diamonds or other precious gemstones. The bracelet gets its name from an incident during a tennis match in 1987 when tennis player Chris Evert’s diamond bracelet broke and the match was interrupted while she looked for her lost diamonds. The bracelet became known as a “tennis bracelet” after this incident.
