The Temple of Edfu is located on the west bank of the Nile River in Egypt. It was ordered to be constructed by Pharaohs Seti I, Ramses I, and Ramses II. The architect Imhotep, who designed the pyramids of Saqqara, designed the Temple of Edfu. Made of sandstone, the temple used simple machines like pulleys and ramps during its construction. It is a massive structure made of heavy elements and large in size, making it stable and rigid. The temple's main parts include columns, beams, and walls that experience compression and bending stresses. Near the temple are the ruins of the birth house where the temple had a sanctuary with capitals columns
