Dunn County Extension - Social Media for Farm BusinessDennis Deery
Need help figuring out how social media fits into your farm enterprise? This presentation will help you. We'll discuss some tools to get you started and some techniques for monitoring your efforts to see if they're effective.
Keynote for Manage Digital Minneapolis, May 2018.
Why project managers are future leaders (whether most companies know it yet, or not). Part how-to and part rallying cry, we’ll talk about how to level up as a leader in the job you’ve got, and how to show up for the one you want next.
The document discusses blogging and new media tools for storytelling and engagement. It notes that blogs allow for conversation and don't exist in a vacuum. It highlights various multimedia tools for telling stories, and emphasizes that all media is becoming social as people want to engage audiences. Social networking tools like Twitter and Facebook are mentioned as ways to connect with people. The document advocates that journalists should take advantage of social news sites and aggregators, and stresses having an open mindset to new technologies. It suggests journalists can be entrepreneurs in the new media landscape.
Social Media for Ag Producers - St. Croix County ExtensionDennis Deery
The document discusses the benefits of social media for agricultural producers. It acknowledges that social media is a new way of doing business and that not every platform is necessary for every operation. The document provides examples of popular social media platforms and hashtags used in agriculture, including Twitter accounts and resources. It concludes by inviting the reader to connect with the author and learn more about using social media for their business.
Tweeting is easy. So is setting up a LinkedIn group, Facebook page, Pinterest account, and a blog. It's easy to get caught up in social media platforms and other technologies but lose sight of the big picture. Explore how to break down silos and align social media and blogging tactics to a larger strategy designed to meet organizational goals. Walk away with an understanding of how strategic social media can help you enhance member value and prove ROI.
Polk County Extension - Social Media for Farm BusinessDennis Deery
Farmers and farm markets need inexpensive and effective ways to reach out to their consumers. Social media, web sites and email marketing can provide a way for the small farmer to tell their interesting stories and engage with their customers.
Want to make an impact in your community, but don’t know how, or feel like you don’t have time?
You’re not alone. Luckily, there are a number of ways you can use your tech-industry skills to create positive change in your community - and yourself! (Fun fact: volunteers live longer and make more money than those who don’t volunteer.)
In this talk, I explore at the why’s, the how’s, and the where’s for sharing our skills. You’ll learn more about the breadth of ways to give back - both technical and non-technical - and hopefully leave feeling empowered to reach out in your own community and start making connections.

Energy #Digital Summit - #Branding in #Oil and #Gas IndustryEdelman
Deven Nongbri, VP at Edelman: Today’s marketing environment is increasingly crowded, noisy and commoditized in the oil and gas space. Marketing professionals in the industry will need to tighten up their branding efforts to win preference, purchase and premium pricing to stay competitive. A recent study by the Executive Board found that customers with strong brand connections have higher rates of consideration, purchase and willingness to pay a premium than customers with low brand connection.
How does an organization achieve brand connections? As you’ll hear from our talented panelists, branding is not simply something you can check off the list – it’s a living, breathing part of your organization and should be invested in wisely to make those strong connections.
Quick show of hands here: how many of you have brand management as part of your title? How about as part of your work duties? Do we have any brand police here?

Successful social media companies listen first and sell second. The ROI of social media is whether a business will still exist in 5 years. It then provides statistics about the number of users and user demographics of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
