Women…
 India a country well known
for its cultural heritage , is also
a country popularly dubbed as
a male chauvinistic nation.
 We portray our nation as
Bharat Mata and still we fail
to acknowledge that women in
our country are helpless
victims of male chauvinism &
handedness.
 Till today women are
compelled to play the role of
second fiddle In every sphere,
be It family or public life.
poverty & cultural, social norms
• Low literacy rate among women
Dependency on their male
counterparts
• Patriarchal society & prevailing
medieval orthodoxy
Multiple reasons for
gender inequality
 Women empowerment means providing
equal opportunities for women on par with
the male in all fields.
 Even after 65 years of independence it is
still a dream for many women in India. Many
rural women continue to live in the shackles
of medieval orthodoxy where their male
counterparts play a dominant role in almost
all fields.
 The dominant role of men eventually leads
to many forms of violence against women.
Women being considered as weaker gender
continues to dwell in the darkness of silence .
Harassment on women has become a major
problem now-a-days.
Discriminations against
women
Raise your
voice against
the violence
targeting
women !
“A women is a storehouse of
energy and power,
suppressed over
generations and centuries
together,
free her from the
gender bondage & inequality,
let her spread her
wings and enjoy the freedom,
After all she too is a
living being with desires… “
 Creating awareness among
women about the need &
importance of empowering
themselves through media.
 Ensuring the enrollment of
more number of girls in both
primary and secondary education
every year.
 Stop selective abortions.
Providing access to clean,
healthy & quality food plus
environment. Treating women on
par with men in all aspects.
Empowering
women
 Empowering rural women by helping them setup self
help groups & Encouraging their active participation in
organizing such SHG’s.
 Encouraging women with innovative ideas by
supporting them financially and mentally by providing
loans, counseling etc.
 Women can be given equal rights such as providing a
50% reservation for women in parliament and in other
fields.
Providing a healthy and productive working conditions
which are free from any forms of harassments.
