The Drive Shafts pictured to the right are received in a badly worn condition. They are pre- machined and grit blasted. The blasted surface is then sprayed with an extremely hard wear and corrosion resistant coating of Chrome Carbide and ground finished. Service life can be increased by up to 4 times with this coating! This bronze impellor wears in service and is refurbished with arc spray. The bearing locations and wear ring OD’s are first undercut to remove any spalled or damaged material. Pre- heat is applied to remove any surface moisture, followed by a grit blast and a build-up with arc spray and a final machine back to dimension BEFORE AFTER

Where a pump casing may have suffered extensive corrosion or fretting of the joint faces we can refurbish both faces with a stainless steel arc spray wire. Once the faces have been rebuilt we then surface grind them back to top size. We manufacture pump sleeves with a PTA (plasma transferred arc) wear resistant coating for extreme wear environments. This extremely hard wearing coating will outlast an ‘off the shelf’ stainless steel sleeve by up to six times!
